Truly, a great film about the struggle of a single mother trying to stay afloat as it seems that every aspect of her society is turning against her. Close to the end it appears that she may be about to take the easy way out. Thankfully, she doesn’t and in the end a small rainbow finally appears. Excellent acting and fantastic cinematography and editing. It has one of the highest ratings on this site, but even in France it grossed just 1.5 million and 36,305 in whole North America. Totally disappointing.

Character's situation is very real. W great directing and fantastic performance from Calamy this movie is a gripping experience.

The film does an exceptional job of putting us in the shoes of single mother Julie….it does not sugar coat the character Julie’s compromises or flaws or her reality. I wish the ending had a little more umph as it felt a bit too predictable and dry.

Soundtrack made me feel like I was stuck in a MRI machine for the duration. The movie was is relentlessy anxious Good acting, cinematography, writing, etc. etc. but not at all likable

Beautifully acted accurate view of single motherhood

Full Time – Non-Stop Transit Bad Dream This is quality movie making, highlighting the hand-to-mouth existence of a single working mum - struggling to keep the wolf from the door while commuting to and from Paris during a crippling transport strike. For his second feature, writer/director Eric Gravel makes sure not a moment is wasted on unnecessary story details - this is solid storytelling capturing the exhausting, everyday battles so many modern parents and workers are forced to face in cities all over the world - while also being a strong comment on social and personal mores. Laure Calamy's striking performance certainly earns the well-deserved praise for her award-winning performance as the 5-star chambermaid trapped in hideous robot-like working conditions. While not all the ideas may come off perfectly, it's good stuff, with a Tangerine Dream-like soundscape to keep it moving. Recommended as above–average quality, for discerning viewers.

Full Time is an intense and gripping high wire act. A meticulously crafted film about one woman's struggle to stay afloat in life. Julie is a single mother of two who lives just outside Paris. Each day she travels into Paris, where she is the head chambermaid in a 5 star hotel. Her job is stressful enough but is exacerbated by transit strikes, which make her day harder each day. Add in childcare struggles and an absent father who is behind in alimony, all making each day harder and more stressful. We follow Julie on this journey, feeling each body blow along the way. In this situation she is also looking for a new job, adding further drama to the mix. This wonderful film is a great illustration of the demands of modern life, especially for a single working mother. It's also actually gripping, in a very well paced film that remains essential throughout. Laure Calamy is strong and robust in the lead role in a film that rewards quite heavily.

They turned an emotionally charged slice of life into a suspense thriller which is super interesting. I think the content may be too close to home for some. This was a fine movie, but not the kind easily recommended to others.

However, things do not go according to plan when a national transit strike throws a wrench in her plans. The film does an excellent job of portraying the difficulties of working mothers. Julie is constantly torn between her responsibilities at work and her duties at home. She is also under a lot of pressure to perform well at both. This can be very relatable for many viewers who may have experienced similar situations in their own lives. The lead actress, Laure Calamy, does an amazing job of conveying the emotional roller coaster that Julie is on throughout the film. She can capture the frustration, anxiety, and determination that comes with trying to balance work and motherhood. And the cinematography by Victor Seguin brilliantly shows the frenetic pace of the city and the director, Eric Gravel, chose to colour-correct Paris to make it look cold and hostile to Julie. Overall, FULL TIME is a well-written and acted film that will resonate with anyone who has ever had to juggle full-time work and parenting.
