So good. Love the music and story ❤️

I was expecting the worst based on previous reviews, but this movie wasn't horrible. Possibly the biggest issue was the script (was there no script editor?): awful dialogue and poor directing choices killed this film. The acting wasn't great (Mariah Carey surprised me with some nice moments scattered throughout the film), but it wasn't terrible. This isn't a film I'll re-watch, but I've certainly seen much worse. In the hands of better screenwriting and directing, this story arc could have worked.

An ego project that is the worst movie I've ever seen

When I was watching Glitter I was like, oh wow the story is unoriginal & uninteresting, oh wow the writing is extremely dull and lazy, oh wow the characters are forgettable and generic, and oh wow the soundtrack is insufferable & uninspiring. Not to mention the latter being released on the same day during the 9/11 attacks, it's a good thing she moved on to Charmbracelet because this movie & it's soundtrack are atrocious.

Someone needed to tell Mariah Carey to slow down, and glitter does just that. A lame film, embarrassing to watch that shows a great music star that she is not good at everything she sets out to do or wants to do.

O filme é bastante subestimado. Tudo bem que não é uma das maiores produções já feitas, mas a história é coerente e bastante emocionante. A atuação de Mariah é ótima. A trilha sonora é bem contagiante e bem feita.

i love this movie!! has been my favorite since i was little. i don't understand the bad reviews, mariah actually did an amazing job! the vocals, acting all of it was divine. the ending especially provides an emotional lovely experience. i recommend 100%, and if you left a bad review watch it again and tell me you still have the same opinion. lovely movie 10/10 amazing work!

If you're a general music fan favoring Mariah Carey the most, then you might enjoy this blandly mediocre, awfully presented project of hers if you don't mind that nor insulted by the uncommitted, cringey performances by stereotypically-casted omens of a bad picture mocking the musical definition of soulful. I think contemporary reviews were much harsher than the movie warranted out of a desire to kick Mariah while she was down. They probably should've delayed the release when 9/11 happened as audiences would surely have seen it as tone deaf, though it would only have helped a little bit. The acting was honestly fine with Beesley doing his level best to channel Marky Mark and Howard is always good. Mariah wasn't exceptionally bad, though it was clear she wouldn't go on to a career like J-Lo's. The soundtrack was fine, particularly if you're a fan of the genre (I am not). The thing I did hate was that an extremely successful singer wanted so badly to make this movie in the first place as it gave me the impression that she wished she'd endured greater hardship in launching her career so that she could be more proud of it when in reality her dad was rich and she married the head of her record label. They had a scene of a singing prostitute, heavily implying it was her mom, but then ended the movie with a bizarrely saccharine reuniting that took away my suspension of disbelief. There are several movies from 2001 that were worse than this, though - it didn't deserve all the hate it got.

It's a very fun movie the kind of movie you see on weekends Mariah beautiful as always and singing wonderful

This movie got way to much hate. Is it the best acting ever? No. Was it trying to be? No. I think the story it tells is one that hits the heart and it's still a nice watch.

Great movie. Periodt.

We all owe Mariah Carey a BIG apology.

It is a good movie if you give it a shot. It was released during a unforeseeable tragedy which is why I think it did so bad. Give it a shot when you're bored. Old school type movie
