007: Goldfinger Reviews
Yikes. Possibly the most overrated movie I've ever seen. Sexual assault, long uneventful stretches and awful dialogue (plus hard to hear dialogue) are the defining characteristics of this god-awful movie.
one of the best bond movies! A true classic!
Best action Seuqences in the 60s
This is the true start of the bond franchise where all the tropes are laid out and it is an absolute blast of an spy caper but it is definitely dated in a few moments
The Bond film to which all others must be compared. The girls, the guns, the gadgets, the locations, the villains, the evil master plan... it may not have been the first Bond film, but it is, and likely always will be, the standard-barer.
Start of the Bond tropes properly in this film. Amazing car, fun gadgets and some properly iconic quotes, not to mention the theme song. Just possibly one too many random women for him, could have kept at least one for more than two minutes.
A perfect movie and the first time we see his iconic Aston Martin DB5
A classic bond film.
The film that made bond, incredible!
A must see film for anyone it is action packed and it has so much cool espionage
I think that "Goldfinger" is the best depiction of Bond in the first three films. He is not "in the dark" like in "From Russia with Love" and his charm is even more intriguing than in "Dr. No". From the first moment when he sees the bad guys reflection in the girl's eye, it is clear this Bond movie is on a different level. The spy gadgets are on point, the villain is introduced early and the Bond Girl actually has purpose, even if her name is Pussy Galore. My gripe with this film is that it is a tale of two halves. The first half is borderline incredible. Everything is clicking and there are brilliant moments (i.e., the banter with Q, the girl covered in gold, the car chase and the laser). Unfortunately, once things move to Kentucky (almost exactly at the halfway point), everything slows down. Bond is locked up, there is a unnecessarily lengthy sequence with a car being smashed and the climax is rushed (as with most Bond films). The worst part of this film is a three minute scene where Pussy Galore is dropping knock-out gas from her plane. The score is UNBEARABLY repetitive and aggravating. I honestly had to put my 온라인카지노추천 on mute because of how annoying it was. I think that scene alone dropped my review by half a star. Remove that small annoyance and the inconsistency of the second half and "Goldfinger" is a solid entry in the James Bond universe. Best Character: Oddjob Best Quote: "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!" - Goldfinger Best Scene: Fighting with Oddjob in the vault Best Piece of Score: "Goldfinger" Note: These movies need to stop killing off such great characters.
Best of the Bond adaptations IBHO. (In Blobbo humble opinion.)
This was such a good movie. I first saw it when I was 12 and obviously didn't understand most of the plot. Sure it's dated but it stands up pretty well. It's definitely worth the watch.
Goldfinger hands down is one of the best in the entire series. It simply has everything great to offer, you have action, one-liners, a great villain, memorable bond girl and Sean Connery as Bond. Absolutely iconic.
Best Bond movie ever. Unfortunately it started tge trend for spy gadgets in the Bond films but it works. Beautiful Bond girls. Believable acting. Great plot. Accurate Fort Knox . Not true to the book but better.
Despite not being a non-stop thrill ride, Goldfinger remains entertaining with its unique villains and an interesting journey that fully showcases Bond's cunning prowess.
Goldfinger, the criminal, to other criminals: man has made great progress in everything but crime. "My plan is foolproof." The key to the advancement of crime: an invisible nerve gas, a laser, and an atomic device. Not the most imaginative plot by any stretch, but not as many impossibilities as other Bond movies.
It's the definitive best Bond movie... and there are a lot of great Bond movies.
The classic bond movie. This movie made bond into who he is today. Bond himself has charm and carisma. Goldfinger is the archetypal Bond villain. Pussy Galore built on the Bond girl formula. Q came into his own, creating the character we love to this day. This movie is where it really all began.
