Heavy Trip Reviews
I enjoyed it , found it very entertaining and fun, wild and crazy. it got over a fluie sick day. I'm so glad I choose to rent this movie.
This movie is actually good. It gives you an insight into the real experience of metal bands. Also, we all metalheads know that when a metal movie is being made, they always make it with the influence of pop culture so it will appeal to normies too. But this is different, it actually has a really good soundtrack, like the band plays real good blackened death metal (i suppose?)
4 metalheads go on a road trip to play their 1st gig. minka kuustonen is nearly 40 now but quite a pretty then. watch it for the stupid.
A film centered around metal music that doesn't feature the most basic bands (Sabbath, Metallica, Maiden). Soundtrack is very good. Can easily be watched over and over again. Reminds me of the places where I spent my very early childhood.
this is a medium budget film with great music, pretty decent acting, some solid gags and an overall positive and fun-loving attitude. i'm watching it because i saw a trailer for the sequel which just released, and i am definitely going to watch them back to back today. in many ways this is like a more grounded, live action version of metalocalypse. if you enjoy metal music or silly humor then you should definitely check this out.
The movie gets a bit silly towards the end, but up until that point it's very funny. I like metal, but I don't think that's necessary to enjoy the film. It's very funny guy humor.
I didn´t know I liked heavy metal. Absolutely cool.
This movie works so wonderfully well, because the people who made this movie knows so well what's metal about metal. Which, in turn, enables them to makes jokes about metal that REALLY hits home. It's a love letter to metal fans that pokes fun at all the tropes of the metal scene. 🖤🖤🖤
Charming, goofy and heartfelt, a love letter to metal that works as a comedy as well.
Lots of laughs, goofy setups and over-the-top gags, but that's exactly what is called for and done with great enthusiasm. A fun movie. If you have to ask questions about it, you won't get it. If not, it is a blast!
new favorite movie omg
A feel-good road trip comedy about a Finnish death metal band called Impaled Rektum. The story wasn't particularly original, but the film's affection for the metal scene won me over. Good silly fun.
The movie started okay but about half way through it began to get so silly and bizarre I could hardly wait for the movie to end. I think they took what would have been a good comedy and turned it into a complete farce.
5 bags, a barrel of reindeer blood, some projectile vomit, and some backward Finnish attitudes about gay ppl, this is a hilarious movie. It has a Tom Cruise reference in like the first 20 minutes, so automatic 3 bags there. Then, it's about metal, so another couple bags! It also had subtitles, so reading it makes you smarter. This movie took the best elements of musical satire comedy shows and films like "Spinal Tap" and "Metalocalypse" and took all the best stuff from American comedies like "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" or "Dumb and Dumber" or "PB Falcon," it's a journey and ppl grow. There is a popcorn connection with the Addams Family because Xytrax had the same morbid optimism that Morticia or Wednesday Addams had; he saw bad things as being good, so don't say being goth doesn't teach you stuff. You can tell they also stole from America's movies because the only female in it has no character development, and the only other one besides her is a manly Army lady. There was also some allusions to American metal bands, like Pantera and Cannibal Corpse. So you heard it, there should be more movies which bridge the gap between Finnish and American culture. So basically, it was a great movie and it was metal, despite having no stars in it (but it referenced Tom Cruise, so that counts more than even if Brad Pitt was actually in this movie). \m/ Hail Satan!
A Finnish heavy metal band's journey to their first gig tests their dedication to their art and leads them to face their fears. Unique, full of humor, heavy metal references, great music, and images of the beautiful countryside of Finland. (Finnish is a beautiful language just to listen to!) With a great message about being true to yourself and your art, and remaining loyal to your friends, this movie is the next "Spinal Tap"/"Blues Brothers"-type cult favorite. A must-see for all the metalheads!
Mythic, Epic, Touching, Funny... this is a movie you do not see often! I want to see a sequel at least! Long live "symphonic post-apocalyptic reindeer-grinding Christ-abusing extreme war pagan fennoscandian metal" !!!!
Más entrañable que graciosa, esta comedia finlandesa puede gustar a los amantes del metal de corte nórdico, pero tampoco esperéis la irrisión.
