I was quite disappointed by this film. She cheats on her boyfriend (who seems like a great guy) with a cocky rich boy. Falls in love after only knowing him for a brief time. Cocky guy abandons her when he finds out she's dying. He shows back after some time. He apologizes and she shushes him and just acts like everything is all ok. Boo 👎

I liked this movie when I saw it the first time when I was in middle school, I love Leelee Sobieski I’m bias because she was my first favorite actress, but her character of Samantha in the movie loved Josh Hartnett’s character Jasper, she thought she was in love but fell out of love and she found her soulmate through Chris Klein’s character of Kelley. This movie definitely deserves a higher score than 17% but my favorite line besides them quoting Robert Frost was, “Some people live their whole lives and never fall in love…I lived my life and I fell in love. “

The cast do a good job but the story is poor melodrama.

What on Earth would have been a better title. Sweet Jesus. This was a terrible film. Pretty strong leading cast, "mates" that all looked the same, nice camerawork .. and a god awful story. Truly terrible. She falls for the rich block cause .. literally no idea.

Possibly the most frustrating movie I've ever seen. Even the trailer sucks. Why would anyone go see this after seeing the preview!? I got dragged kicking and screaming into it by my stupid ex girlfriend and may as well have had to get carried out in a body bag... I wanted to die after seeing this.

Like a more forgettable variation of A Walk To Remember, except with a gas bar/diner exploding into flames and the female protagonist inexplicably choosing a pretentious rich kid over a likeable country boy.

Here on Earth is a disappointing film. It is about a rich college kid who is taught a lesson after a joy ride ends up destroying a country restaurant. Chris Klein and Josh Hartnett give horrible performances. The script is badly written. Mark Piznarski did a terrible job directing this movie. I was not impressed with this motion picture.

That this teenage romance, young love, disease of the week flick rises above the genre is credit to its young stars. Josh Hartnett and Chris Klein square off like two young banty roosters fighting over a pullet. Chris Klein has been described as a thinking man's jock. Josh Hartnett is one of those character actors who inhabits a part to the point that he leaves one saying, oh that's who that was. The girl they lock horns over just happens to be the local sheriff's daughter. Annette O'Toole plays her mother having come a long way since Beach Blanket Bingo, she later plays Superman's mother in Smallville. Michael Rooker, Cruise's competition in Days of Thunder plays Hartnett's father though it is interaction with his mother that assumes more importance in his life. The reconstruction project at the centre of the movie seems to be a community event. This is another one of those townie vs rich spoiled private boy's school stories. The point is driven home repeatedly that Richie Rich's father treats his son just like another one of his investments whereas the local yokel has loving parents who are involved in their son's life. Thrown in as best bud is a muscular bleached blonde whose parents obviously own the local general store.

This could be mistaken for a Nicholas Sparks' film. It was overly dramatic, fast and yet it dragged on at times, and two people fell in love in the blink of an eye for no reason at all. Not what I was expecting, but pretty good nonetheless. Worth seeing at least once.

Here on Earth misses all opportunities to be memorable and to reach out - the development of the plot is too weak, the characters don't struggle enough, the very intimate and tender moments are missing. The actors are promising, but don't save the film... Chris Klein's character is the only nearly interesting one, tho still too 2-Dimensional and not really deep. The girl, played by Leelee Sobieski, is awful, carrying only one expression in her face that she almost makes you fall asleep. Oh - what a suprise, this ain't a Nicholas Sparks movie!
