Here Today Reviews
This is more indulgent, and the more it goes on the more mawkish it unfortunately becomes. It's clearly a very personal project, but it just loses its way very badly.

A film with a big heart and more zingers than actual laughs.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Sep 8, 2021
A glossily disingenuous piece of work.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 5, 2021
A very heavy and indigestible meal of emotional correctness.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 2, 2021
Sure, there is a fair bit of whimsy and jarring dialogue, but Crystal is able to bring his usual self-deprecating style to an otherwise unoriginal story. Haddish is hugely likeable.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Sep 2, 2021
The handling is soggy and often tone-deaf, the kernel of mournful humanity the closest thing to a saving grace.
| Original Score: 2/5 | Sep 1, 2021
If anything, "Here Today" proves that the dynamic Haddish can ably downshift and still be winningly charismatic.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | May 13, 2021
This is maybe one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It's just terrible, awkward, stiff, and never funny.
| May 13, 2021
It can be saccharine, syrupy and silly... But I got to tell you, I just didn't care. I love Billy Crystal and Tiffany Haddish, and when they mix it up, man they really mix it up.
| May 13, 2021
It's amusing at best, deeply uncomfortable at worst, and always capable of stopping the movie's emotional undertow on a dime.
| Original Score: C | May 12, 2021
Here Today serves up slow pitches for Crystal and Tiffany Haddish to knock out of the park, delivering another comedic odd couple with carefully massaged heart. As thin star showcases go, it's an occasionally effective bit of comfort food.
| May 10, 2021
The movie certainly has heart; its purpose is unmistakable. But the spark -- for which it has all the necessary ingredients -- is somehow missing.
| Original Score: 2/5 | May 10, 2021
Crystal largely avoids the pitfalls of a movie about friends of different races.
| Original Score: 3/4 | May 7, 2021
A dementia subplot torpedoes the laughs, leaving Tiffany Haddish and writer-director-star Billy Crystal adrift in a comedy fizzle that forgets to be funny.
| May 7, 2021
While Here Today never works, there is a confessional quality to it that makes it intermittently interesting.

Mr. Crystal directed, from a script he wrote with Alan Zweibel. But he did no favors to himself or anyone else by pushing his cast to 온라인카지노추천-sketch excess while playing Charlie on the sticky margin between unctuous and smarmy.
| May 7, 2021
Crystal writes himself a honey of a role that he performs with his signature charm and wit. But he seems to have forgotten to write any of the other roles with the same depth, which is a darn shame.
| Original Score: 2/4 | May 6, 2021
Movies are allowed to be more than one thing - "Terminator" has robo killings and romance - but all those qualities must harmonize. "Here Today" is a mess.
| Original Score: 2/4 | May 6, 2021
Crystal's first directing effort in 20 years produces dubious results.
| Original Score: 1.5/4 | May 6, 2021
Too peculiar and heartfelt to be truly bad.
