The Hitcher Reviews
Ho visto il film del 86 che è davvero grandioso mentre il remake è diverso e non è proprio niente di che ma non è così brutto
The 2000s were marked with horror movie remakes of iconic titles, and while The Hitcher isn't on top of the list, the original is far better than its abysmal remake. This movie disregards all the unsettling elements that made the original effective and wastes the talent of Sean Bean on a killer who is hardly threatening, let alone dangerous.
This movie is boring, annoying, and a real killer of your own engine. Don't waste time, speed past The Hitcher that is this movie.
Alright, since i just bought (and saw) the original which always been my favorite, decided to re-watch this thing that they dared called a remake, or a reimagining your choice. Point is, I do like Sean in pervious and since but this?? R.H. did it perfectly, why did it had to be messed with? Oh yeah right, the time that producer/director thought he could do every remake possible and get away with it, guess what, not in this one Mr. Bay!!
Quite literally the most irritating film I have ever seen from start to finish, not a noteworthy acting performance in the movie accept for Sean Bean I guess if he was told to be the most vexing character in existence, then he got it spot on. The whole thing is just incredibly unfeasible and impossibly ridiculous, thankfully its only an hour and 20 minutes or so, still an hour and 20 I wish I could get back
John Bean is absolutely sinister in this. The truck scene is nine chilling to this day.
This is an inferior remake but also it's not a bad film. It's mostly forgettable. It is worth sticking with this one to the ending as the action really does ramp up. It's not a thoughtful movie but instead a thrill ride that looked pretty. That is exactly why I quite liked it. It is serious and that is something that I liked about it, there is no sense of humour! Maybe they could have done something different to distinguish itself from the original, it really feels very unoriginal overall in style and content. The casting isn't as good. Compared to the original I will remember it for actually showing the guy getting ripped in half rather than just implying it.
It's hard to re-make a classic like the original hitcher, and they didn't really hit all the marks. it didn't make me feel as scared as the OG did
I really don't like this remake it has the same vibe from the same director who remake Amityville Horror and Texas Chainsaw Massacre and produced by Michael Bay.
I don't care what the critics say--I enjoyed the hell out of it.
Saw the 19% critic rating but watched it anyway. What a pleasant surprise! Great little movie. Extremely well directed and well acted. Sean Bean was flawless in his portrayal. Sophia Bush was excellent not to mention seriously hot. Zachary Knighton was also very good. Well-paced. Lovely shots. This is a quality film. Suspense and horror galore. Highly recommended.
this remake version of the hitcher is absolutely terrible is just doing the same remake vibe of by the same director and producer who did texas chainsaw massacre.
This Thriller is like most Platinum Dunes remakes is bland and forgettable and just watch the original movie instead
Sean Bean is the best part of this movie with the Beautiful Sophie Bush in a remake that's okay but serviceable horror for teens and young adults a like.
PAY NO ATTENTION TO THE CRITICS REVIEWS. This movie was great and Sean bean is just great as a bad guy
I should have taken the warning of "In association with Michael Bay" at the beginning more seriously... Just such a wildly inconsistent film that doesn't seem to quite know what it wants to be. Think of it as poundland Wolf Creek. My favourite part was probably the weirdly out of place police chase set to Nine Inch Nail's 'Closer' - I was laughing at how ridiculous it was. Also, American Sean Bean is nothing short of blasphemy.
It gives off a smell of a very formulaic approach, but steps away when we're introduced to SB's character. Overall, the characters are believable, but there are inescapable holes in the logic of events, as well as simple questions about the protagonist, that go unanswered. Incredibly, these issues don't detract from the appeal of a sociopath hunting people, which is some kind of result in itself
Move along move along just to make it through... positive start or irrelevant music to set the tone. Flash of the females body, a near death experience with wet weather, a guy that needs a hair cut, yeah... pretty common these days. Just nothing that said right from the offset this was going to be good. To sum up the film failed miserably. Sean Bean very stone faced the n the highway in the downpour should have raised the alarm bells a bit more with the characters who were more bothered about doing a 360 or ding dongs than anything else. This was 360 and out.
