Hot Tub Time Machine Reviews

May 14, 2025

Stupid but so funny. Normally I don't enjoy this kind of break-neck comedy, but this was just so enjoyable.

**Hot Tub Time Machine – 4 Stars** This movie is a gloriously ridiculous blast from the past that never fails to make me laugh. I watched *Hot Tub Time Machine* a ton in my teens, and revisiting it now feels like slipping into a warm, nostalgic bubble (pun intended). The plot? Absolutely bonkers. But that's part of the charm. The cast is stacked—John Cusack, Rob Corddry, Craig Robinson, Clark Duke—all firing on all cylinders. The 80s setting is so spot-on it feels like a time capsule, from the fashion to the music to the hilarious cameos by Chevy Chase, Crispin Glover, and William Zabka. I was *today years old* when I realized Marvel’s own Sebastian Stan is in it—mind blown. It’s not just a comedy, it’s a love letter to an era, wrapped in absurdity and heart. Loud, crude, clever, and oddly wholesome. I had a great time, again and again.

Silly, funny and just not that original. But it is enjoyable if you do not want to think too much hahaha. Well, surely enough twists and turns, almost too many, cast all excels in character, looks like they enjoyed it a lot. Well directed, must be if you have to keep all the chaos in check. Just a bunch of giggles

A few big laughs (almost all from Corddry, the rest of the cast doesn’t appear to be trying very hard) elevate this raunchy comedy that’s only otherwise distinguished by its amusing title.

This is one of my top five all-time favorite movies. I love all the '80s references humor is right up my alley. Overall whenever I need to pick me up or just want to enjoy my day with some alone time from the fam IQ up this movie and instantly feel great. It's not an intellectual movie it's just a lot of reference points I understand and love. It was pretty much a simpler time where you could just have fun and do a lot of nefarious things great movie great times

Recommend this film, a bit vulgar but would recommend this film. Love the 80’s nostalgia.

Idiotic, but he knows he's idiotic and ends up being really fun.

Funny despite being very stupid.

Although the plot is on the right track to being good, but doesn't quite take the cake, the fun characters and relatibility makes for a good time.

Laughed all the way through

I had a few chuckles but even though it wasn't that funny it was certainly amusing.

Holy hell. The only way to enjoy this movie is with a fresh concussion. Nothing makes sense. Was ANYONE sober while coming up with what would eventually be called a "script"?

Some movies just get better and better as time goes by - this is for some reason repeat viewing at least once a year. Yeah - it awful, but in the best possible way.

One of my all-time guilty pleasures and a certified cult classic. There's a nostalgic feeling of recapturing your youth when watching this. Smoke a little weed and enjoy yourself.

This movie is not funny another comedy movie that is not funny maybe if they would have casted somebody besides John Cusack it might have been funny all he does is whine and moan and ruin every movie he's in he has never done a good movie. He may have played a small part in a good movie at some time but any movie he's the star of is trash run him out of Hollywood and whoever casted him in this movie should never be allowed to cast in another movie again everybody else was great still not funny except for when the dude snorts the cocaine other than that that one funny part the whole movie sucks
