Hotel Transylvania Reviews
This was my absolute favorite for a solid year. The story telling is funny, and I think their vampire accents are so goofy. I still have this movie on DVD. I think that Mavis could do a lot better than Johnny, but I'm not one to judge.
Even though Adam Sandler is the anchor of a cast that is buoyed by some stellar mainstays from television, full-screen motion pictures and animated films, Hotel Transylvania misses the mark. The attempt to turn everything monstrous onto human beings simply backfires because humans really are as despicable as these silly Transylvanian types that are posing as monsters. Sandler's schtick, most of all, is getting tired. His jokes are old, his songs are barely amusing and, by the end, he literally has nothing to say with his vampire character's "bleh bleh-bleh" utterances. It makes you appreciate the "Arrested Development" joke of Scott Baio's Bob Loblaw character. At least it has some thought behind it. Since I really do love and appreciate most of Sandler's efforts, I will give the film half a star for the attempt at recapturing lightning in a bottle with the airplane scene.
Cool kids movie. The second best of this series. Characters are kinda boring.
A fairly average cartoon with a thin plot. A few reasonable characters but none standout. Passed the time and has no heavy moments. Watched on DVD.
I love animation. I love horror, even campy horror. I couldn’t get through this. The plot feels forced and predictable, the humor forced, derivituve, and purile, the animation, frenetic to the point of exhaustion. It might entertain a kid, but there's netter stuff out there.
I'm hardly the target audience, but even allowing for that this isn't a good film. It feels like it's been work-shopped to death in an inclement writers' room, where a group of executives have brainstormed 'family Halloween movie', and fed the results into a random plot generator. Is there even a plot, other than girl trying to get guy's attention? Being generous, I laughed twice. Maybe two-and-a-half times. The jokes rarely find their target, and it all lacks wit, warmth, scares, and joy. The voice cast is trying its best with the poor screenplay, but it's thin gruel. File under 'do not bother'.
I don’t care what anyone says, I loved this movie and I recommend it. It makes me laugh and cry and it’s just a cute movie.
Great fun for all the family's
I turned off the adult in me and very much enjoyed this fun cartoon.
As a Child: 7/10. 76/100. | Now: 70/100
O filme entrega oque promete, e um bom filme.
I grew up with these movies and I've never once been disappointed i love every voice actor, every scene, and just about everything else. It's an absolute must watch i can't stress how much I love these movies.
I love the story And how it continues
When I watched movies as a child, I just watched them for the fun. Now that I am older and can watch them for more reasons, I think I can say this is one of my favorite animated films of all-time. The characters are funny, the plot works, and the pacing was great. A movie that defined my childhood!
Not a movie I return to but still better than I thought it was going to be, Hotel Transylvania is a decent family film that isn't very funny but is somewhat charming. Definitely one for kids, but I would revisit a few hundred other animated films before I watch this again.
Seriously the best animated horror movie for all ages. Fun and ironic as we humans can be scared of monsters, but monsters are scared of us, making it look like the reason why we don’t see them.
*Hotel Transylvania* is an absolute delight, earning a solid 3.5 stars. This franchise brings a lot of charm, with a voice cast that's spot-on. Adam Sandler, Selena Gomez, and Andy Samberg shine, bringing humor and personality to their characters. The animation is vibrant and lively, capturing the spooky yet fun atmosphere of the monster world. Every scene is packed with energy, making it highly entertaining from start to finish. Yes, the story is cliché and predictable, but it’s hard to mind when it’s this much fun. The jokes land well, appealing to both kids and adults, with plenty of visual gags and clever dialogue. It's the perfect movie for family viewing, offering something for everyone to enjoy. While it doesn't break new ground, the fun vibe, lovable characters, and fantastic animation make it a memorable ride. A perfect pick for a light, entertaining watch.
I like it but it could be better
