Just as she is about to be burned at the stake for witchcraft, 17th century witch Jennifer (Veronica Lake) casts a curse on the family of her accuser, dooming all the men of future generations to marry the wrong women. Freed from her ethereal prison some 250 years later, Jennifer decides to make the most recent descendant of her accuser (Fredric March) even more miserable by using a love potion on him that makes him fall in love with her, a plan that has unexpected results.

"I Married A Witch" is a high concept movie, especially for 1942. The picture carries a Frenchness in its lighthearted attitudes regarding relations between men and the women who enchant them.

While I Married a Witch belongs to another era, if you set aside your preconceptions and allow yourself to immerse in its world, you may find it to be one of the sweetest, innocently pure, and tender love stories, offering a delicate, entertaining, simple, but touching escape.

For a non-musical studio comedy of the era, there is a lot more emphasis on the visual style than you might expect, which is essential given the fact that certain characters spend a good portion of the movie as wisps of smoke.

A near perfect supernatural spin on the classic screwball farce delivered with frothy style by Rene Clair. Veronica Lake at her absolute finest as the simultaneous bubble-head and brilliant immorta. and the great Frederic March doesn't do so badly himself. Only 77 minutes! No doubt the primary inspiration for the original "Bewitched" 온라인카지노추천 series.
