Infinite Storm Reviews
Watts plays this troubled woman with an admirable commitment, recalling her outstanding performance in The Impossible (2012)... [Full review in Spanish]

...an erratically-paced drama that holds a fair degree of promise in its early stages...
| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Feb 25, 2024
The rescue is pitched as an example of coping with suffering by choosing kindness in a cruel world.

The characters and their interdynamics simply aren't that interesting during the rescue, so somehow it all comes off as dull. But there is Watts (and who wouldn't follow her anywhere?)

While Pam's real-life rescue is an incredibly awe-inspiring story, this adaptation doesn't do it much justice.

Appears to be a typical contemporary adventure... but then the movie develops into something much more interesting... [Full review in Spanish]

As Pam, Naomi Watts puts in strong work, perfecting Pam’s accent and giving an instant worth to the story. The minute she steps on screen, we’re buying in and never doubt her on the mountain for a second.

Where "Infinite Storm" falls short are in Szumowskas and Rollins efforts to try to retrofit a larger life lesson onto this simple survival story.
| Original Score: 2.5/4 | Apr 17, 2022
Infinite Storm is decidedly lean in its narrative thrust. It purposefully drops breadcrumbs for viewers along the way to follow but never lingers in mawkish sentimentality with its limited cast.
| Original Score: 8.5/10 | Apr 14, 2022
Watts' performance and the reminder that this is based on real-life events maintain enough interest and impact to make this an immersive experience.
| Original Score: 3/5 | Apr 11, 2022
This gripping, taciturn thriller set in a frozen landscape isnt necessarily any different from the other titles, but the well-crafted drama is a good reminder of how tangible atmosphere can transcend predictable narrative. At least at first.

... a visually striking exploration of inner fortitude that struggles to fulfill its weightier dramatic ambitions.
| Apr 2, 2022
A harrowing true story is rendered inert by the light touch on its most interesting aspects.
| Apr 2, 2022
Another one of those invisible Naomi Watts movies nobody's probably ever going to hear about.

The final result is ultimately a high point for Malgorzata Szumowska and Naomi Watts. The two make a powerful pair, telling a womans story, but also having respect for the mental health of this situation.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Apr 1, 2022
Polish director Malgorzata Szumowska understands that rescue demands carefully executed actions, quiet fortitude, and previous preparation. Anyone ever stranded or endangered in a beautiful wilderness will understand and respond.

It is well-photographed, the epic adventure is harrowing, and Naomi Watts earns more deserved applause for being one of the gamest actors in films today.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Mar 31, 2022
I don't think a lot of the ideas in it land that much, but I enjoyed it as a sort of physical exercise.

Małgorzata Szumowska’s disaster movie, based on a true story, relies too heavily on tropes and not enough on its star, Naomi Watts.
| Mar 30, 2022
Even though Infinite Storm is inspired by a true story, almost everything in this disaster movie looks phony. The dialogue is awkward. Physical injuries look fake. Actions are hard to believe.
