I.S.S. Reviews
ISS is full of weird sensitive melodrama. It was more of a depressing statement about the difficulties of interpersonal relationships than it was a movie about nuclear war.
ISS has an amazingly dumb synopsis that could make for something really tense and fun. As it stands, it’s fine.
Strives on paranoia-inducing plausibility within a tightly enclosed setting at a helpless distance effectively boosts a gripping thriller at character-driven pessimistic minimum. (B)
I.S.S is a Very Intense and surprising movie. THE GOOD International Space Station is very well paced, very slow and thought provoking. It never made me bored, the visuals are surprisingly good from a smaller studio. I have never heard of these actors yet I want to see more of them. From start to finish the thing was consistent in the fact that neutrality is key. THE MIXED Some of the writing was not great but not bad. I did not love how quickly the conflict started. THE BAD I honestly don’t remember any name except Kira , this movie has the same problem as rebel moon, the characters are forgettable. This whole movie is forgettable. OVERALL I.S.S is a delightful suspense movie that can surprise you in a few ways, do not go into this thinking there will be a full fledge war, it is better if u expect nothing.
Such a cynical story set on an iconically hopeful setting the ISS the beacon of human collaboration and a showcase that humanity can work together in peace and explore for the good of all. Such a shame, the cast and crew did a brilliant job but the premise and the story was such a disappointment. Hopefully someone will utilise the wonderful sets and techniques used in this promising film for am epic optimistic story.
This film was a failure from the start. We know that the Soyuz is crewed by three austronouts, and the commander must be Russian.
I liked this script. I loved the casting. I liked the pacing and the way it was shot and pretty much everything about it. Loved the acting and the characters. I pretty much think this is really sort of a brilliant movie. Don't want to give anything away, the ending is really good.
The pitch is interesting: what happens in the ISS when nuclear war breaks out on earth. But the makers of this movie suceeded in turning it in a slow, uninspired story with unrealistic twists and a dissppointing ending.
I couldn't watch it beyond the first few minutes due to shaky cam. What a great shame. I'm a huge fan of sci-fi and might have enjoyed it.
Not great and could have been a lot better. However, not as bad as I was expecting based on the reviews.
Unique storyline which is very refreshing to see as most space movies are similar nowadays. Movie had a lot to give but was let down by acting and the ending was rushed…Must have run out of budget.
We wait and work out what to do with the limited information we have” For me this line by Ariana DeBose sums up ISS perfectly. As a viewer, you feel like you’re waiting for more information on the wider plot elements of ISS, and sadly, you’re left frustratingly unfulfilled by the end. All in all ISS feels like an ambitious “B” movie with some great moments of tension and a good mix of characters. However, the story I wanted to know more about, was back down on Earth. I would recommend this film to anyone who wants a solid, somewhat grounded Sci-fi film BUT I would have preferred to know that almost all my questions were not going to be answered so I could focus more on the ISS crew.
The idea is good, that of very plausible and real space horror, the execution slow, uneventful, and uninteresting.
Boring and predictable. Same story that's been told a thousand times before. A pretty typical B-grade Netflix movie.
Special Effects: 0,5/Sound Effects: 0,5/Acting: 0,5/Story: 1,0
I.S.S. is a fine concept of a film that doesn't quite deliver in the end. It has its moments but it feels like the script perhaps needed a little more work. The film is set on the International Space Station, where 3 Russian cosmonauts and 3 American astronauts co-exist quite well. They marvel at space and seem to get along fine. Then they observe a series of explosions on Earth, which is naturally alarming. This is followed by the Russians and Americans receiving messages from their superiors that Earth is at war and that they need to take control of the space station. This leads to a series of events that escalate the tension and drama onboard. It's quite interesting but some scenes felt a little unrealistic, leading to situations that don't fully convince. Acting is fine, but not memorable. An interesting film that doesn't quite deliver.
One of the worst films of its kind. The film had no ending.
Leaves you guessing at the end. The two actors playing the Russian men looked too similar and I could not keep track of which was which
Really dumb choices by supposedly smart people turned me off less than an hour in. They send one of their own out alone, breaking all normal protocols, after the information they receive from earth? Too annoying to enjoy
