I haven't been a great fan of romantic comedies in recent years. There's something lacking in them. But I've never been disappointed by any movie with Meg Ryan. Is it her, the quality of the films she agrees to be in, or were the writers better 2 decades ago? I don't know. This movie had some minor issues for me, but I'd still want to watch it again!

Charming, fun, romantic and better than some of the remakes and movies we are being told are must sees.

A genuinely sweet and genuinely warm hearted film for crazy romantics. Loved the humour and acting despite the predictable ending. Served up in a warm and satisfying way like a favourite meal we always come back to without a bitter after taste. Try it for yourself. A great night in and well worth considering if you are tired of others movies that make you reach for the antacids after watching them. Why reinvent the wheel when it runs as smoothly as this.

I love Meg Ryan, one star. Bad bad production otherwise. This ridiculous actor Jackman looks out of place and it's not even because he plays a guy who has traveled in time. The whole thing is badly put together and the screenwriter should be shot. Otherwise...the only mystery is how did they convince a bunch of well known actors to play in this mediocre thing.

This is an oldie but a goodie

Re-watched it after more than 15 years. One of the rare romantic movies I enjoy (probably due to the science/nerdy twist of time travel. I used to have a huge crush on Meg Ryan which has since disappeared but the movie is still charming and watchable. I'd recommend, even though it didn't age as well as I'd hoped it to. Bonus points for Wolverine and Sabretooth being in another movie together.

I always align with most ratings for movies. As a movie buff ratings are something I value. I am BAFFLED this movie doesn't have better reviews. I was laughing non-stop, in between I was blown away by the attention to detail!! A wonderful feel good movie with exceptional performances, especially from Hugh Jackman. It's one of my favourite movies now!

Great fun and silliness. The perfect date movie and one I used to show to my students in class when teaching inventions. It's amazing how many thing we take for granted that are part of our lives today.

I love this movie! Such great chemistry between Meg Ryan and Hugh Jackman (first movie I ever saw him in). Funny, sweet - a perfect romantic comedy.

Perfectly fine date movie with a cute premise and attractive stars but it never quite works because 1) it's predictable and 2) it's not believable. Ryan's character is so brittle and charmless that it takes every smidgen of her considerable adorableness and every bit of Hugh Jackman's acting to help us believe Leopold is taken by her. They make it work but barely. There are some nice moments by a first rate supporting chast like Breckin Meyer, Natasha Lyonne, Bradley Whitford and Liev Schrieber.

It's always nice to see a rom-com from this era where the leading man wasn't Freddie Prinze Jr. or someone with equally little acting talent. This worked in the same way that most Cusack rom-coms work in that the leading man is likable in large part thanks to the actor instead of the way the character was written. It didn't hurt that I was personally enamored with Meg after having loved her performance in When Harry Met Sally, nor that they had a starry supporting cast. The movie did run a little too long though, which probably would've been alright had they not made the outcome pretty clear near the beginning of the movie.

Kate and Leopold is an absolutely charming romantic comedy.

Charming romantic comedy! For all of you who ever had an overdose of reality, Kate and Leopold says: hop in and escape for a sec'!! It was funny, it was witty, the acting was good, the actors did a decent job, and it's a great date movie or something that you know will end well. A modern fairy tale for romantic souls.
