Boring, dull, seems like the actors sleep walked their way through it. Morgan Freeman needs to retire. Clive Owen was about as animated as a sloth.

I Honestly don’t understand the hate this movie received or its low box office success. It’s genuinely a good movie, really heartfelt and has an interesting story/take that was loosely based off the 47 ronin. Worth the watch 100%. We need a 2nd movie asap.

It’s ok - honestly. In a world where film seems to have lost the meaning of “films” this is a nice break away.

Was pleasantly surprised with this low budget film. A couple of plot twists, a heroic sacrifice and a general distain for a common enemy. If you miss early 2000s movies this film will take you back to a simpler time.

A great movie, super underrated.

What a disappointment it must have been to produce something of this quality only to have it go right over the heads of most lunk-headed critics and many viewers corrupted by digital glitz and technicolor dreck. The most common complaint seems to be that this is dull and they’ve seen it all before. To which I can only respond that either you weren’t paying attention or your brain has been broken by the MCU. This is one of the best sword and sandal epics in the genre. A real hidden gem. The silent assault on the fortress is worth the wait. Put your phones down and try to focus.

Although a slow start, I was totally engrossed about mid-movie. It held my attention to the end. For some honor and saving honor is a noble cause to live by. Not an easy course. The action was also quite good.

Lousy ending. Rubbish Emperor. I couldn't hear half of the actors lines.They should have killed him too. Very obvious who was going to die.

This film is something I often drift back to, it is a wonderful story of honor and valor, if you are expecting it to be over flowing with action, flashy colors, and mushy emotions then this movie will not meet your expectations. But if you are among those who want to see a film depicting stoicism, duty, brotherhood, and justice. Then you have found a film to add to your collection. Each character portrayed was able to draw me in. Those overly whining and nit-picking about this movie should stick to their marvel and star wars.

I have not seen or heard of it before. I loved it. There was not too much gore(as I'm a laydee) Clive Owen , is believable as the warrior, who bides his time, and you route for him. Morgan freeman adds the grandiose of an aging ,/ill Lord. Its a film about the bravery and nobility of a time gone by. The subject matter may not be new but it was easily a slick take on the genre of Kingdoms and warriors. The antagonist is as slimy as they come, and the role is played well. One comes away feeling you have watched a classic and will watch again

Must see the movie, maybe you will see what I did. Bravo!

Dull. Boring always waiting for something to happen but never does. Waste of time

Underappreciated film. Well performed, and well shot. A lot of criticism has to do with the lack of individual character development or worldbuilding, but that comes from people who don't seem to understand that this is based on the 47 Ronin/Chūshingura story from Japan. This story is extremely well-known to many audiences outside the west, and even to westerners with a casual interest in Japanese culture. If anything, the effortless diversity of the film puts to shame the "diversity for diversity's sake" we see so much of these days.

Acting was very questionable at times. Sound was way off in several scenes throughout the film.story was good but very poorly executed. Other than the main character, character development was very poor. The Story was a good idea but again poorly portrayed.

A movie that easily could have been a forgotten stereotypical medieval action movie ,but instead took care with its story and it characters in a respectful serious way.
