Last Stop Larrimah Reviews

May 19, 2024

When Fran's lawyer was reading the transcripts from the audio recordings of Owen's, he didn't say anything about the nose and she said 'and the nose, yeah'. Not sure what was said prior to this but he didn't mention anything about the nose. She knows more about this.

Entertaining, interesting, small.

Total waste of almost two hours and they never provide a resolution to the disappearance of the Irish guy and his dog. Most of the residents seem to be alcoholics and the police are mostly portrayed as incompetent. A lot of repetitive shots of uninteresting landscape used as filler.

Gritty & honest, but I wouldn't expect anything less from the Duplass brothers.

It was very entertaining. Every episode took you in another direction.

Amazing doco. Aussie outback town true crime. If ever there was an advert of to never live in small Aussie town. I am an Aussie and see people like this about the place. Riveting stuff.

In enjoyed watching people from abroad telling their story about Paddy and who they thought did it. It did leave the watcher wondering, however after hearing the recording of the guy practically admitting what he had done killing the pups and what was it he said. " I killerated him" That was an admission if ever there was one. When he stated that wasn't his voice it seems odd that experts in voice recognition weren't called in to this investigation. I normally don't watch murder mysteries but this was down to earth a great 2hour documentary. I felt sorry for all of the people there in that small town. I've always wanted to visit Australia. These small towns all look alike in the outback. I'd give this 2 hour documentary 8-1/2 out of 10 for a good story. Truly a story about 10 or 11 citizens who live life with too much time, hatred and alcohol. This is one hell of a gossip story.

A brilliant documentary movie. Best I have seen this year. It epitomises the life of a remote community that attracts those from the fringes of life, of less than a dozen people and how they interact, and nobody gets off scott free from an examination by their peers. It extrapolates the raw feelings and challenges the viewer to make decisions about them. Can't believe anyone in the 21st century could put this factual and authentic documentary together but they have. A must see that leaves one glued to an incredible series of events.

I will never drive through a tiny town here in Australia and think that absolutely nothing happens. On my way to watching it a third time.

A must see! One of the best documentaries I've watched in a long time

Good overview of the gossip, hearsay and evidence. Owen, no doubt in my mind was responsible. Fran knew about it and her conscience is catching up with her.

Don't bother with this garbage. I watched about half and was bored to tears and very tired of hearing that Fran lady whine and say what a good person she is.

This is a well-produced and well-edited doc about an interesting story, but was a tad too long. It is more is a soap opera than anything, with stories upon stories about a small town's residents not getting along.

Outstanding documentary! I'm always looking for something to peak my interest. This doc delivers. Wild to think this town of 11 people had such a who-done-it story to be told. The story was expressed without sensationalizing the residents. And, they're all quite the characters. The soundtrack really is spot on too. Highly recommend this movie!

A larger than life cast of characters!

This has got to be the most beautiful true crime documentary I've ever seen, but it's also the one with the most spirit and laughter. I was absolutely hanging on every word, but not just in suspense, like you might expect -- the characters are so multi-faceted and interesting that you leave thinking you don't know the whole story, even though on paper you know the whole story. Very hard for me these days to find a movie that captures my heart without being devastatingly sad -- this is it!

I loved this film. It was such a fun who done it. The characters are incredible, and the accents are just brilliant. The director does a great job straddling the line between humor and being serious, since this is a true crime doc about a man who has disappeared. Really well done.

I was so mesmerized by Last Stop Larrimah it had me on the edge of my seat.

Complex, funny, heart breaking and dark all at once. So different from anything I've seen in a while. Always refreshing when something new comes out that surprises you. Highly recommend!

No reason to make a documentary out of this story when no one has been charged. Also, this doc is rather sloppy. I mean why include an interview with one of the resident's attorneys when the attorney's only response is "no comment"?
