Law Abiding Citizen Reviews
This is one of the BEST THRILLERS EVER . The devices he comes up with and torture of killer are unreal.
This is a bit gory in places (eyes shut moments for me) but a clever thriller full of twists. Great cast and well acted. Wouldn’t have watched this based on RT critics reviews if my partner hadn’t already seen it and thought I’d like it. He can’t understand the low score. Very clever.
I think this film gets too lost in rhetoric about the flawed justice system.
Movies was good till the last 20 minutes then it went down the drain
Gerard Butler is the new Jigsaw! (I love stupid movies that think they're clever)
One of the best films I've seen...great cast, great story....deserves a much higher rating....FABULOUS
Sakto lang, Isang magandang thriller na mala horror dahil sa ilang nakakagulat na eksena. Maganda un daloy ng kwento na medyo lumaylay lang sa ending na nag ala terrorist na un atake ng bida / kontrabida.
Great movie. Kept you on the edge of your seat. Psychological suspense. Gerard Butler and Jamie Fox, its got to be good.
I firmly believe this can be an enjoyable film, as long as you're willing to look past the obvious plot holes, occasional bad acting and logical inconsistencies.
Great movie. Deserves 8.5 rating.
Highly underrated, don’t know what’s bad about it. Powerful themes and characters, astonishing performances, particularly Gerard Butler, as a man who lost his faith. Great film, don’t mind the critics, follow your taste.
RIP to yet another fictional mother who died to save her husband's delicate masculinity.
Entertaining movie with a good storyline and acting. It’s a shame that the movie entered the unrealistic Hollywood trap as it could have been a real classic if they kept the story a little realistic.
With all the $0 bail bonds for suspected criminals who get released and kill again, I empathize with the main character. When the justice system fails, it's vigilante time.
Must seen movie. I don't know how I missed this before. I could say, one of the best movie I have seen for a long time. Gerard Butler is great in it, highly recommended.
Although this movie is unrealistic and exaggerated, I enjoyed the plot of the film. A man takes full revenge on the legal system and all the actors involved who let the killer and rapist of his wife and daughter off easy through a plea deal.
Sometimes you just need a movie with action, thrills, threat, psycho murders and handsome actors. I did enjoy watching this. I did! BUT, and here's the buts.... SPOILERS AHEAD I just could never quite believe Gerard Butler as a bad guy. I understand why the character went off the deep end, but i didn't see it in Gerard's eyes, expression or speech. I didn't believe him. Yes ok, perhaps that may be due to the fact that i find him quite attractive, but equally, it could be because he just naturally gives off powerful "good guy who saves the day" vibes. Who knows. So i suspended my sense of disbelief. When I saw the credits I noticed that he was one of the producers and I thought "Ah that explains it. He was probably sick of being type-cast and wanted a different type of role to stretch in to where he could show his other acting skills." I'm not sure he succeeded and I do wonder if he would have been cast in that role, if he hadn't been a producer. As for Jamie Foxx, he was bloody amazing as Ray Charles in the movie, Ray, but somehow, in this movie, he just seemed a bit bla. In my opinion, the freshest acting came from Leslie Bib, Viola Davis and Bruce McGill. Saying that, if you just go with it anyway, it is an enjoyable movie. Did anyone else get tiny reminders of the film Se7en?
It starts okay but gets more and more ridiculous to the point where they get into the secret lair, find his stock of semtex on the shelf in boxes clearly labelled 'plastic explosive semtex' and Jamie Fox dramatically says 'f**k, semtex' (just in case we missed the labels on the boxes) then they find his cleaning job schedule with exact time and place where he's working, conveniently on a clipboard on top of everything else on his computer desk...it's like they've seen how it works in other suspense thrillers and either missed the point completely or are joking and it's a parody.
