Let's Go to Prison Reviews
This movie is absolutely hilarious, though I found it took a second viewing to truly appreciate all the humor and nuances. Keep an open mind, sit back, and enjoy the ride. If it ever streams for free, I won’t hesitate to watch it a third time—it’s totally worth it!
Love it, very witty very original, don't listen to all these peckers that didn't like it, they just don't like comedy
I've watched a movie one time when it first came out with my then 14 year-old grandson and I did not like it and he said, "watch it again." I watched it again and I think it is one of the most hilarious movies I've seen.
Honestly taking the dark comedy route isn't the problem here, it's that the movie, whether the result of studio interference or not, doesn't have the guts to really follow through with its convictions. As a result much of the cast ends up embarrassing themselves for nothing.
A movie that got better with age.
Hysterical! Cracked up and laughed out loud so many times. Once again, as usual, the critics got it so wrong. Hilarious premise, plot, dialogue, and great acting.
The most interesting part of this (and the only bit that made me crack a bit of a smile) was the car jam during the credits. Was watchable but not much else.
In this odd yet entertaining jail sitcom, Bob Odenkirk injects a peculiar comic style, which may or may not be to the public's liking for humor, but it certainly has some strange after-effects.

By the looks of the audience score, it would seem some people have some specific hangups or insecurities triggered when they watch this movie. Maybe ex-cons feel disrespected or something. "I go ape sh-- for Chuck Mangione. But, enough small talk." This is one of those flicks that I have watched at least a dozen times because I can't surf past it. Even the credits are funny.
I seen this years ago on comedy central and it was really bad. They would play it over and over. I don't see why.
This movie has no right to be good, but for some reason it is. Dax Sheppard really does show his talent in this movie.
Criminally underrated prison comedy -- and doesn't it seem like ALL prison comedies are underrated? Must be something about the politically incorrect nature of most of the jokes that naturally come up in such a scenario. Not to say this film deserves the rank of FRESH, but 12%? Inmate, please!
