Conniving attorney Fletcher Reede is an ace in the courtroom, but his dishonesty and devotion to work ruin his relationships. His wife, Audrey, has left him for a more dependable man, and Fletcher often breaks the commitments he makes to his beloved son, Max. Cary Elwes who plays Jerry who has a hyper happy & Dudley Do-Right persona. It's over the top & overplayed. Not one his better roles. Jennifer Tilly plays Samantha Cole. She is usually typecast as a sex pot. Which is unfortunate. Because she's actually a really good actress. Jim Carrey who plays Fletcher plays a swarmy, win the case by any cost kind of lawyer. However After her son Max makes a birthday wish he becomes brutally honest with everyone. Jim Carrey often plays cartoonish, wirey, slapstick kind of characters. This movie is no exception. When Max makes his wish Fletcher becomes humble & surprisingly honest. That's when Jim Carrey shows can play something other than just rubbery, toonish characters. The concept for the movie is far from original. But the family friendly moments more than make up for it. There's enough sophomoric & Jim Carrey style humor to make Liar Liar worth watching more than once.

Synopsis
