Lisa Frankenstein Reviews
Acquired taste but MY taste. If you like halloween/campy goth movies (its not scary btw), satire, and Diablo Cody's style you will like it
I love it because it was gothic and funny
Romantic thriller vibes
it was a one time watch! I was expecting more but it felt like the director played it safe.
Fun quirky little movie. Loved the practical effects. Loved the characters and the lack of redemption.
I liked the soundtrack, cool 80's. It was funny and reminded me of John Waters style.
It was ok. Pacing felt slightly off and certain beats felt rushed or glossed over. Fun idea, but slightly underwhelming execution.
Wonderfully weird and quite funny. This was darker than I expected. I went in thinking it would be a cute little love story. Um, no. It's actually bizarre and more of a horror show than I thought it would be which was fantastic because it's rare when you get something so offbeat and unexpected these days, especially at the theater. It wears its influences on its sleeve. There's a lot of Tim Burton and Heathers in here which was fantastic. I can't recommend this movie enough. I hope director Zelda Williams unleashes something equally as interesting and fun with her next film.
If youre a big Tim Burton fan, this movie is an absolute love letter to movies like Edward Scissorhands and some of Burtons other classics. But it still stands on its own two feet and tells its own weird story! Its quirky, weird but funny at the same time. I really had a good time with this one. It put a smile on my face. Its definitely going to be a cult classic for sure!
Future Cult Classic!
The dynamic was fun and fresh to modern film.
so fun and campy. i went by myself and it was so fun
Kind of funny Goth-Victorian-comedy. No Oscars here. But Kathryn Newton did a solid job of building a quirky character. Probably the standout was Colin Sprouse as the Monster.
just utterly awesome! love love love it!! I highly recommend
Not enough egdeing or gooning
Loved the 80s references and songs. Silly but fun with some gruesome moments.
Absolutely great movie and fantastic job by Zelda Williams 👏 I was only one laughing in the theater!! I like dark raunchy humor
The most fun I've had at the movies in some time. Head out from Heathers, take a left at Edward Scissorhands, and you'll be somewhere in the vicinity of this campy, genre-defying (romantic comedy? horror parody? coming-of-age? teenage fever dream?) delight.
Enjoyable film! It’s very funny, too.
I saw this with a friend and we both loved it! It's a more mature PG-13 than the trailers led me to believe. I'd highly recommend it for fans of Jennifer's Body. I plan on watching this in theaters again.
