Lisa Frankenstein Reviews

Apr 21, 2025

There's a lot of room for improvement here— so many what ifs. The ending felt like a cliffhanger; I want to know what happens next. Don't get me wrong, I love mysterious characters, but I really want to know more about The Creature. It really deserves a sequel because there are questions that needs to be answered. Nevertheless, it's a fun movie to watch with your friends.

Picture this: Romeo and Juliet get a jolt of lightning from Dr. Frankenstein, and you've got 'Lisa Frankenstein.' This flick? It's a killer '80s thriller-romance that seriously delivers. The acting? Top-notch, especially our leading lady. She nails that awkward, angsty teen vibe, and watching her go from shy wallflower to full-blown badass? Pure cinematic gold. The pacing? Solid. The setting? Seriously atmospheric, like stepping into a perfectly curated '80s fever dream. And the music? Bangin'. Honestly, it's hard to find a real fault here. They clearly poured their hearts into this one. Yeah, maybe it wasn't exact/y my demo, but I can't deny the craft. There were a couple of tiny cohesion hiccups, but who cares? They're like, dust motes in a neon-lit room. Bottom line: 'Lisa Frankenstein' is a total win. It's got that perfect blend of creepy and romantic, making it ideal for date night or movie night with friends. Guys, gals, everyone's gonna dig it. It's a wild, stylish ride that'll leave you buzzing. Trust me, you won't regret hitting play. The only real downside is it's been done before. But if you enjoy these archetypes and this type of storylines. You'll be right at home.

Lisa Frankenstein is perfectly fine, and occasionally it's actually pretty damn fun, thanks in no small part to the very good Kathryn Newton who gets a chance to properly shine after being underserved last year in Quantumania. The main drawback here is that the film is simply too surface-level to feel as truly weird and off-kilter as it wants to be.

I thought the movie was Stupid funny my kind of movie. The cast was great I could knot stop laughing. I loved the 80's theme. Because I was born in the 80's.

Say what u want about this film, but I really loved it. Even thought I was born in '09, I really liked the 80's reference and the story is very creative and original for a generation focused on sequals. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII LLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Remake of the classic. Teenager Lisa has her wish come true when a dead boy revives like a zombie and follows her. I just watched 30 minute of this movie until I could not handle it anymore. Really boring and not resaltó funny 🍿/5 on prime

Lisa Frankenstein was fine. If you dug the vibe of Netflix’s take on The Addams Family, and Tim Burton films of the late 80s/early 90s, you’ll probably dig it. If, like me, you’re more ambivalent towards those properties, there are still a few moments, scenes, and lines of dialogue that are strong/clever/funny enough to keep you engaged- although it does feel a bit long at points.

"They say 'Time heals wounds' but actually, 'Time is the wound.'" In the year 1989, one's life is about to change forever because of a storm. This is a strange take on Frankenstein's story with something special about it. A film that is entertaining enough and if you do love the 80s, that "Sweeney Todd" vibes, if you love Kathryn Newton, Jughead Jones / Cole Sprouse, this film is for you. Kudos to Liza Soberano's first appearance in a Hollywood film. She did an amazing job and deserves to have more. Cole Sprouse and Kathryn Newton did deliver a good performance here too. A film that I could recommend watching. It was fun to watch! Loved that they still used When in Rome's The Promise in the film (not just in the trailer).

Really only worth watching for the actress Kathryn Newton , she was a joy to watch! Also seeing Cole Sprue in more movies is neat. The overall premise of the movie is cool but muddled down by weird dialogue & gross scenes. An ok movie.

I absolutely adored this movie!! It was incredibly creative and beautifully thought out. I love movies with is kind of unique style and I wish there were more just like it! The story was very cute and reminded me of the styles from the movies Edward Scissor Hands and Heathers.

**Lisa Frankenstein** is a twistedly charming mix of comedy and horror that had me hooked from the start. The plot is just wild enough to stand out, and with Kathryn Newton in the lead (who’s always a delight), I couldn’t resist. Add Cole Sprouse into the mix—who I grew up watching on *Zack and Cody*—and it was a no-brainer to watch. The Burton vibes are strong here, and I’m absolutely not mad about it. It’s dark, funny, and surprisingly romantic in its own warped way. I loved watching the dynamic between Lisa and the creature—her healing his body while he helps her heal emotionally. Cole’s transformation as the creature is fascinating, too. The only downside? I wish we got more backstory—like who killed her mom and the creature’s origins. But honestly, it’s never boring and balances laughs and chills perfectly. A must-watch for horror-comedy fans!

This is my Favorit movie. The romance is so beautiful and I empathize with Lisa so much. Ever since it came out it’s been my Favorit movie, even with really good releases lately. I’m still delusionally hoping for a second film. Id LOVE to see when happens next in their story together. Another thing. The background music is to die for.

I thought I was going to hate this movie, but I loved it, it was just fun, don’t trust reviews from critics, this movie is great.

Original, B-Type movie, but it fell short I think. Maybe it's the acting, I don't know. I suppose it's on purpose, but it feels that sometimes it's just bad acting

Cute and fun movie. Loved the music. No clue why the RT score is so low. I got so many recommendations from the movie critics I follow and they were right.

It’s funny…. I guess…. This is a children’s movie disguised as a teen movie. At the very end it makes me laugh, but definitely I’m not watching it again.

Lisa Frankenstein is actually a surprisingly fun watch! This dark comedy-horror teen film blends sharp humor with splashes of over-the-top violence, creating a twisted yet entertaining ride. The standout feature is its stellar soundtrack, featuring tracks from Galaxie 500, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Pixies, The Chameleons, and more. These iconic bands set the perfect mood, blending nostalgia with a rebellious energy that elevates the whole experience. If you’re into dark humor, killer tunes, and some bloody fun, this one’s definitely worth checking out!
