Live-In Maid Reviews
I loved this movie. It was so well done, very organic and very engaging. The ending was perfect : ) I won't spoil it by discussing it here, but I think the ending was the best part : ) You know, I don't think this movie could have been made here in the US. It would have lost it's subtlety and become ham handed and preachy. If you want a film that has no Hollywood glitz, just great, understated acting, with natural dialogue and believable, sympathetic characters, watch this one!
Me fascina esta película. Un retrato sumamente perfecto y conmovedor de las diferencias de clase en Argentina y de la inevitable intimidad emocional que resulta entre el opresor y el oprimido.
Poignant and masterful, Live-In Maid is an involving unorthodox presentation of the averse relationship, more appropriately, friendship, of an imperious bourgeois and a taciturn domestic attendant. Emotionally complex and ambiguous, Live-In Maid is transcendental of social class, precisely aware of the situation and disposition of the bourgeoisie in the times of economic recession and profoundly acquainted with the vicissitudes and realities of life. Emphatic.
a good script - two good actors - and a good director to put it all together - makes a very good film
Boring. Didn't make it half way through movie. Main character woman very unappealing and uninteresting. I'm afraid this movie is too true-to-life.
Sweet little movie about two women and their relationship as employer and employee, their loneliness and their own struggle with everyday affairs. I quite like low budget movies when they are this good.
nice relationship movie about a live in maid taking care of her Employer who had money at one time and now down on her luck the maid has not been pd in months but she stays a building character study of what do you do when money ran your like subtitled a very good movie
A well crafted film study of declining social status and precarious friendships. Understated and subtle but brilliantly presented.
No matter if your rich or poor, you can always feel lonely and find friendship in the most strangest of relationships? at least thats what I got out of the movie.
This is just such a deep drama but made beautifully out of tiny and every day details. I loved the stunning performances and the perfect rhythm. This movie relies completely in the relationship of these two woman and how their completely opposite life's get to depend so much on each other.

how two lonely women from different social backgrounds have to accept that they need each other and during that process they each move in the other's direction until there is no class difference left
This may be one of the lesser of the recent Argentine films about the economic crisis but it is still better than most films out there. The story of a woman in economic difficulties, the filmmakers are careful not to have Beba change too much or understand her maid more than is likely. Still, as films about the crisis go, another with the wonderful Norma Aleandro (Son of the Bride) is far more effective and captivating, centering on other stories rather than economic decline itself. In fact, there are several others that are better. Still, taken on its own terms, Cama adentro features solid acting, decent writing, and a somewhat nuanced vision of class relations.
