Definetly the film that, with Triage, made me appreciate Colin Farrel who I, so far, had only seen like an beautiful actor suted to roles in more commercial film: I sow that fil two time at least and I found int a bit a Tatarantino's taste with English flavour. More, the music , something of which appeared to be simiilar to "Radio Head" one , are very fashioning-british rock
So many people hated this movie but as a fan of British crime flicks and the Guy Ritchie school of cooler then life villains this absolutely fits the bill.
A good film — can't understand all low scores - go for it — it's violent mind
Great cast with some superb characterization from Ray Winstone. My issue with the film was I already watched Carlito's Way.
Gangster movie, thriller e storia d'amore; il tutto in poco più di 90 minuti; forse troppo pochi per esprimere a pieno il potenziale del film. Sicuramente la trama non spicca per originalità, anzi tutt'altro. Però Colin Farrell calza a pennello per la parte; peccato non aver sviluppato abbastanza il personaggio di Keira Knightley, interessante e sicuramente il più originale tra tutti. Ottima colonna sonora, perfetta per il tipo di film ed il contesto british; e buoni anche i ritmi elevati.

My wife and I watched it on holiday in Greece and were gripped by the storyline and performances. The tomatometer is way off on this rating. Boo!
didn't care much about this movie
London Boulevard is an okay film. It is about an ex-con with a reputation tries to go straight by working as a handy man for a reclusive actress. Keira Knightley and Colin Farrell give decent performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. William Monahan did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the drama.
I'm not sure if "London Boulevard" is trying to be a gangster flick or a satire of one, but, whichever, it's a horribly misguided and superficial directorial debut from William Monahan, screenwriter of Martin Scorsese's far superior "The Departed."

This British gangster film, brimful with the usual cliches, was the directorial debut of William Monahan (the Oscar-winning screenwriter of The Departed), who seems to be trying to ape Martin Scorsese's style with this lame effort. Colin Farrell plays a former gangster, fresh from a spell in Pentonville prison for GBH, who finds himself torn between two employment opportunities within a day of walking free. The first is to become a debt collector for Ray Winstone's firm, whilst the other is to do some handyman work for a reclusive actress (Knightley) who doesn't like being snapped by the paparazzi following the breakdown of her marriage. Farrell makes his choice, but, of course, it's never that easy to go straight. The script is very messy, possibly not helped by some terrible editing which leaves you wondering who certain characters are or what purpose they deliver to the story (the doctor, the vagrant, some random Bosnian). Even the 'romance' between Farrell & Knightley seems wedged in like a jigsaw puzzle piece which simply doesn't fit. Though the cast is promising, the performances aren't the best. Farrell's London accent wavers, Winstone merely drops the C-bomb a lot and Knightley is completely unconvincing & miscast. Everyone else is underused or unnecessary, aside from David Thewlis as a pot-smoking thespian, though again, his character is totally underwritten. The biggest insult is that this film attempts to parallel itself with Billy Wilder's classic, Sunset Boulevard. A total mess of an effort which deservedly flopped at the box office.
William Monahan's directorial debut is loaded with style. But while it all looks great - it fails to engage and ever feel believable.
This film is truly awful. Badly acted, Hollyoaks level direction, not even Hollyoaks level editing, but worst of all the script. Lets start with the 'star'. Colin Farrell's cockney accent sounds more South African. Was the director to scared to tell him its sounded wrong? The script feels like its written by a white supremacist who's never actually been to London, and thinks its still like it was in the 60's. So Farrell gets a job looking after a poor millionaire film star who doesn't like being snapped by the paps. Well boo-hoo. How are you supposed to give a toss about that? Ray Winstone says the 'C' word a lot. Wow. How edgy. Anyway, you get the idea. This film makes a Guy Ritchie film look like a masterclass in filmmaking.
