Why is Luca staring at the sun in the poster? His eyes are gonna burn!
A very cute story about two people becoming friends and helping each other, amazing visuals and cute world.
Una historia muy conmovedora de la aceptación y el rechazo que tiene la sociedad, con una animación que me gusta demasiado.
i watched this with my younger siblings - and i got to say, my siblings loved this movie. me being the oldest, i enjoyed it fair enough. it’s not perfect, but a fun movie with amazing visuals.
This was a solid movie. I enjoyed it, and recommend it if you love Pixar. Also this was just a good and funny movie. It was so light harded, and this shows that not all movies have to have super high stakes.
A wonderful and joyful movie that warms everyone's hearts. The protagonists are kids, curious, different, trying to bite life in different ways and having different backgrounds. The movie is full of light and colors and in a very delicate and passionate way, nail the Italian setting and the kids hunger for growing up. The fantastic aspects are part of the movie in the same palette of colors that gives life to the story. The characters are round and evolve through the movie, without being too trivial. In their evolution they give energy to the person watching the movie and infuse a sense of braveness and friendship that, for how typical it can be for these kind of movies, it melts in the scenario with a delicate touch, without resulting too boring and expected.
All Time Classic. Of all Pixar films Icna think of, this one has a combination of elements borrowed from a ton of other animated films. It reminds in a sense of something like Hoosiers where it's not breaking new ground narratively. We've been here before plenty of times with other animated classics like the Little Mermaid & Pinnocchio. It borrows a ton of elements from other titles and the story is pretty self contained and small scale compared to others. But the execution is first rate. really good voice acting. My one complaint is they can be a bit on the generic side of things but they have enough depth, charm, and development I wsa interested the entire way. The villian also is kind of lame but alright I guess. Really good animation and music. It's colorful, charming, has plenty of life but it just doesn't have the same distinctiveness other animated flicks that have done these elements better have. Same with the music which is good but I struggle to remember one track being catchy and since there is no musical numbers it can blend in a bit. It's well used though. Everything else is first rate. We stay focused on the Luca and his pals the entire way for the most part and the more it goes the more I got invested in the characters and their dilemmas. It really made up for any shorcomings in the soundtrack or designs. It's nothing you haven't seen before but it's got a great message that's well told even if we've seen it tons of times before. Everyone should give it a try once.
charming, fun movie with a nostalgic feel
I love this film with every little fiber of my being. A must-watch
The visuals were great and the comedy wasn't too corny.
A Very original movie, Very unique and the plot it's good. Thé Only Bad Thing it's that Alberto gets Jealous of Lucas New friend, but Well, They need to get thé plot going. Animation it's good, i Like how They Got the style of italia. What a shame that This movie didnt get to the cinemas.
Absolutely loved and would recommend to any age to watch. Super sweet and fun. They need to make more movies like this.
This was a really fun movie with positive messages about friendship and accepting others who are different. Plus, I love Italy (lived across the border in France for 5 years) and so it brought back good memories of Italian culture.
It's much simpler and less ambitious than Pixar's previous masterpieces. However, that's really nice for Pixar. 'Luca' is very delightful, funny, has great animation, lovable characters, and a good simple message all wrapped up nicely in this Pixar style coming-of-age story.
"Luca" is a Pixar direct to Disney+ movie. It follows Luca, a young sea monster who appears human when he comes onto land. I see Luca as a tale of two films. One film is great, and the other pretty bland. Let's start with the great movie. Together our trio of heroes, Luca, Alberto and Giulia are practicing for the "Porto Rosso Cup". It is a bizarre triathlon that consists of swimming, biking and eating pasta. They want to win so that they can get a Vespa. When the movie focuses on this, it is a great movie. I love the simple slice of life story this presents. When these 3 characters are just hanging out, they are very naturally entertaining. They have nice chemistry, and it is just a nice hang out and chill type of feel to it. The movie clearly takes inspiration from some "Studio Ghibli" movies. These types of movies don't typically have a villain, or much of a conflict. They are mostly just coming of age stories, and when "Luca" acts like those films, it excels. When the film is dealing with the sea monster stuff, it is a bore. The undersea world isn't interesting. The parents' attempt to recover him isn't compelling. The obvious subtext about: "being yourself" is heavy handed. It's not that the film has a bad message, it has just been done to death in kids' movies today. Luca himself is part boy and part sea creature. And Luca the film is part chill, slice of life movie and part after school special about accepting others' differences. Sadly, those latter parts are a bit too shallow. But there is plenty of depth in the other parts.
This is probably one of my most favorite Disney movie of all time. I have rewatched this movie like more than 10 times since the story, the plot, the music, the scenes, the characters, they are just perfect and spectacular. Truly impressive! I highly recommend watching this movie, you will love it!!!
I absolutely loved Luca! This movie has such a sweet, genuine vibe that makes it feel both nostalgic and refreshing. It’s set on the Italian Riviera, which looks incredible in Pixar’s animation. You can almost feel the warmth of the sun and the coolness of the water. But what really makes Luca stand out is the story. It’s not just about sea monsters and human worlds; it’s about friendship, embracing who you are, and facing fears with the help of people who care about you. It’s such a meaningful, feel-good movie without ever trying too hard. There’s a real charm to it that reminds me of childhood summers and simple joys. Honestly, I think it’s super underrated in Pixar’s lineup—maybe it didn’t get the attention of some other Pixar films, but it deserves every bit of praise. Luca is the kind of movie that quietly warms your heart, and I’d recommend it to anyone who wants something cute, thoughtful, and uplifting.
