Made of Honor Reviews
I love this movie! It's a silly rom com but I really enjoyed watching it. It's an oldie now but a perfect, ridiculous rom com. Both leads are fun. Who doesn't love the premise he got rich on coffee collars? Lol. If your looking for a serious, Oscar performance, this isn't it but it's fun and entertaining. I've watched it multiple times. If you enjoy light rom come, this is it.
There are two mid-movie collisions between Patrick Dempsey and a restaurant waiter that were SO funny they sort of made the whole 90 minutes worthwhile. It honestly wasn't bad; Chris Messina's very funny and Michelle Monaghan's absolutely the kind of woman to have multiple men fighting over her.
Ah yes, another boring chick flick.
I did'nt expect it , interesting
In my opinion, the movie uses very good camera and audio visual equipment and the crew members and the filmmakers have played their roles very well. I really liked it.
It has become a great movie that the director has very carefully presented the idea that one should not get married when one does not want to get married, and getting married when one finds the one one loves is the most wonderful thing one can do in this life.
Im gonna tell my kids this was anyone but you
So hilarious and romantic!
Terrible Overall. The music is probably the best thing here and it's at best a dated, generic mess alternating between dated 00's pop songs and boring generic tracks. Everything else is just bad. Monaghan is decent in this and probably the best thing but Dempsey is a idiot, unlikeable, and lacks any charm. All the supporting cast is one dimensional and blend in and are forgettable. The jokes are terrible and get one laugh out of every 20. This is filled with mostly dumb jokes, dumb scenes, and a predictable "modern" Rom-Com beats that you see coming the entire way. Most of all this is just a dumb idea. It feels like stuff just happens in between the key progressions this hits. The dumb stuff that does happen we never learn anything new about Dempsey's character. This lacks any charm, wit, or bubbly energy. The one friend is easily a rip off of Napolean Dynamite as well. This is a poster child for a Bad Rom-Com from the 2000's. Stay away even if your a big Monaghan fan.
Why is it called "Made" of Honor? I don't get it. If someone can please explain this to me, I would greatly appreciate it. Patrick Dempsey is a beefcake and his rapport with Michelle Monaghan isn't deplorable. For the most part, the scenes set in New York City are decent. However, once the story moves to Scotland, everything falls apart. The "manly games" are dumb, I was actively rooting against Tom and Hannah kept jumping to ridiculous conclusions. Ultimately, I'll remember the Grandma wearing that sick necklace and the possibility of a child named Athol. Best Character: Hannah Best Quote: "Could someone who is not a misogynist pass the Splenda?" - Melissa Best Scene: The doorway Note: Who are the other women in the poster behind Patrick Dempsey? Not the other bridesmaids, that's for sure. Note 2: I liked the end of "My Best Friend's Wedding" better.
Since everything else about this romcom is perfect, I'll just mention that it's weird that Tom suddenly has bare arms when he's trying on a dress in the reflection of the window.
The actors did what they could with the story given but they couldn't get it beyond mildly amusing.
Could have at least took the effort to put an actor who could fit into the role here. I mean how hard can it be.
Someone who watches too many Hallmark movies decided to make one for the cinema. A jerk wins a woman from a great guy. This leads to a cringe worthy wedding scene that I didn't bother to watch. The jerk had over a decade to woo this woman but he waits until she meets someone to decide she's worth settling down for. The audience is supposed to root for him when they don't even like him. Patrick Dempsey tried to make him likable but it's almost impossible to cheer on a misogynist opportunist.
This is the epitome of a romcom. They meet, they are friends, they fall in love, there is a lame conflict that could be explained in 2 seconds, and finally there is a psychotic/stalker gesture at the end where they obviously get together. The only part I enjoyed was watching McDreamy fail at highland games events.
The movie likes to believe the main pair is so ï¿ 1/2~in tuneï¿ 1/2(TM) with each other, but it comes off as irritating and false. I was activity rooting for them not to end up together...
Why the bad reviews? This movie is cute and funny , amazing chemistry between Patrick and Michelle, i love this.
Nice little comedy, romance. Not brilliant, but easy going, pleasing and watchable till the end. Patrick Dempsey looks just like Frank Zane, without the body, in this film.
This was a great classic! It also painted a pretty good picture of my life so I could relate to the main character. Ever have someone really special in your life and she's right in front of you but you overlook her just to have fleeting fun that doesn't get you anywhere? That's what this movie is all about. He realizes his mistake late in the game and tries to win her back. It's got a funny male cast, love the main girl, humor, good music, it's funny, feel good, and boy do you see the main guy worked really hard to win her back. Little rushed at the end but that's how Hollywood does it. You barely get to enjoy the good part. Great movie though and definitely would watch again.
