The Mask of Zorro Reviews
It's fun, funny, exciting and looks beautiful. Martin Campbell is such an underrated Director. His action sequences just fizz with excitement
"Mask of Zorro" is...such a cool movie. Man, what a great film. Directed by Martin Cambell, the director of the two best Bond movies, Zorro is a tight, sleek, handsome action-packed movie. It completely reinvigorates a long dormant franchise and can work as both a reboot and a continuation of original Zorro continuity. It isn't winking at the camera acting like they are better than the silly source material, but it also isn't overly dark and serious. It is like the movie knows exactly what parts they can fast forward in order to get us to all the best parts. The hero villain pairing in this film is some of the best I've seen. The villains are despicable, have a personal rivalry with the hero and face off on multiple occasions. Anthony Hopkins does a great job in his role as always. Antonio Banderas is perfect for the role of Zorro. And Catherine Zeta Jones...might be my favorite part of the movie. I will not elaborate on that, she just is. The action scenes are excellent. The sword fighting in this film might be the best I've ever seen. The horseback chase is one of the best chase scenes I've ever seen. The opening is one of the best, the ending is one of the best. What more can I say, this movie is...one of the best!
Timeless classic with strong cast and good acting. Anthony Hopkins is in his prime and so is Antonio Banderas. Very epic story about an iconic Mexican symbol.
Such a fricking good film. I know it's cliche to say, but they really don't (read can't) make them like this anymore.
The Mask of Zorro has stood the test of time as a timeless part of Mexican folklore and fantasy history. Movies and and 온라인카지노추천 has help it transcend its original origins in Novel and continued on in Comics. This movie stands with action/ adventure movies before and after its time. With an amazing cast and stellar performance, action set pieces, custome designs, settings and musical score makes The Mask of Zorro legendary to its core , and puts major symbolism behind the lore that has captivated generations.
The kind of immensely entertaining and competently made blockbuster I wish we were still getting on a consistent basis. So many things go right here from the casting to the fantastically choreographed fight scenes that it feels effortless.
What more could you want out of an exciting, swashbuckling period piece starring Anthony Banderas? Maybe a little less soap-opera-y-ness, and someone to help these poor actors learn how to kiss like normal human beings, but other than that, there's not much to complain about here. The story is weirdly interesting for how silly the movie is, and the stunts and choreography are refreshingly real and well executed. It's like the Fast & Furious of Westerns in the best way possible.
An absolute classic that we'll always cherish
Antonio Banderas portrays the charming, mystifying dark masked avenger of the oppressed. This revenge story will keep you glued to the screen for the entire runtime with all the swashbuckling action. And it also has one steamy dance number.
Antonio plays Zorro beautifully and Kathryn is incredibly charming and gorgeous. The villains were played well (you actually kind of hate them LOL). Of course, Anthony Hopkins is great. Good story and pace, great cast, fun to watch with family or a romantic partner. It's definitely a rewatchable movie.
Still a satisfying, old-school swashbuckler after 25 years along the likes of Errol Flynn, the Lone Ranger, and Robin Hood The beloved Pulp Comics creation of 1919 and black-and-white tv series of the 1950s makes its way to the big screen by director Martin Campbell A beautiful cast from Antonio Banderas to Anthony Hopkins to Catherine Zeta-Jones The man who successfully brought back James Bond in 'Goldeneye' and 'Casino Royale' (2006) brings the masked freedom fighter for a new era Taking place in 1821 after the 300 hundred year war of Spain Mexico is awaiting its independence But corrupt Governor Don Rafael Montero refuses to give up his power over the people Don Diego de la Vega is the original Zorro But the Governor discovers his identity and ends up killing his wife Esperanza, feeling she was stolen from him Montero burns Diego's home to the ground and steals his daughter, Elena imprisoning him forever 20 years pass and Diego has escaped but lost all hope; meanwhile two brothers Alejandro & Joaquin have grown up but drunk and running scams to collect bounty money Montero's new right hand Captain Harrison kills Alejandro's brother and he vows revenge, he figures his only hope is Zorro growing up as a child But Diego instead trains him to be the next Zorro to liberate Mexico from Montero who plans to rob gold from California Diego and Alejandro hope to save Elena too making her realize who her true parents were Alejandro has a lot to learn remembering Zorro is supposed to serve the people he protects not seeking fame One of the rare films using real stunts and action to serve the story being one of the few remaining Westerns to do so The actors are charismatic, the romance is wonderfully executed, the action is thrilling, the score is beautiful by James Horner, and it helps bring the character back in a new light with honor, discipline, loyalty The tale centers around generations; what myths and legends mean when they’re gone and the price invaders pay when they underestimate the populace themselves Is heroism a romantic illusion? Yes it might lack substance and some of the casting isn’t exactly politically correct but the entertainment value remains having an edge ‘Mask of Zorro’ still works on so many levels
The greatest 02 hours: and 16 minutes ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mask of Zorro was surprisingly great! The casting was excellent, especially with the main three characters. Antonio Banderas did a great job of bringing his interpretation of Zorro to life. What stands out most from this film are the gorgeous actions sequences. The choreography was crisp, the execution was flawless, and it felt as though the characters were really fighting for their lives. There was a consistent tone throughout the film, other than some of the moments of near slapstick (Nacho Libre-like) humor which mildly distracted. There were powerful moments of surprise (don't get a glass of water from Captain Love's hacienda) and high stakes. On top of it all, I am a sucker for training sequences with purpose. Anthony Hopkins did a great job of encapsulating the patient, yet strict instructor as he tried to channel the natural abilities of Alejandro. It was in these quiet training moments that a foundation was built for what was to come. I left the film anxious and excited for more. The Mask of Zorro transported me into a different time filled with gold, masks, and vengeance, something that I never knew I wanted to watch.
I watched it as a kid and I loved it. Many years later, I feel like the writing is sometimes very lazy (characters are always at the perfect place at the perfect time) but it still a movie you can enjoy with your family.
Grand swashbuckling adventure that stands next to the classics of the genre.
Absolutely brilliant! Martin Campbell did a a first class job with this one, so beautifully made. Antonio Banderas is phenomenal, a man of pure talent, and Anthony Hopkins is great, as always. Absolutely awesome!
The Mask of Zorro is a well-crafted and entertaining movie that is sure to keep you engaged from start to finish. The film is set in the Mexican War of Independence, which provides a rich and intriguing backdrop for the story. The two lead actors, Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas, are fantastic in their roles and bring a level of depth and nuance to their characters that is truly remarkable. The villain is also a standout character, providing a worthy foil for our heroes and keeping the action and suspense high throughout the film. One of the things that I really appreciated about this movie was how it feels like a version of a Batman-like character. If you're a fan of the Dark Knight, then you'll definitely appreciate the similarities that are present in this movie. This is likely why some sources cite that Bruce Wayne would watch this movie as inspiration. All in all, I would definitely recommend The Mask of Zorro to anyone looking for a fun and engaging action movie. The film is well-made, well-acted, and full of excitement and suspense.
Vale apena assistir? Com certeza, continua sempre atual. Nota: 8,25
Antonio Banderas in did a great job in the movie, and the movie itself also left many beautiful memories and impressive places, it is a rare good movie.
