Millions Reviews
Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, o elenco é ruim e nem o garoto protagonista consegue melhorar o filme, a história é fraca e os personagens são ruins.
Recently, I decided to watch the movie "Millions," available on Disney+. I was unsure if it was an original Disney production or a film from another company that Disney acquired. Nevertheless, I had seen it on the platform multiple times and decided to give it a chance. The story follows two brothers who stumble upon a large sum of money. One brother wants to invest and grow the money, while the other brother starts seeing spirits of people from Jesus' time and feels compelled to donate the money to charitable causes. As the plot unfolds, the siblings clash over how to handle the newfound wealth, leading to a series of conflicts and decisions. The movie takes a peculiar turn when saints, apostles, and other spiritual figures begin appearing to communicate with one of the brothers. However, the narrative takes a surprising twist when it's revealed that the money was not a gift from God but rather the result of a robbery. This revelation shatters the boy's faith and leaves both the characters and the audience questioning the purpose of the spiritual encounters. The film's direction becomes muddled as it struggles to reconcile the spiritual themes with the materialistic elements of the story. The protagonist, already a spiritual and kind-hearted child, is left disillusioned by the origins of the money, raising doubts about the film's underlying message and the significance of the supernatural encounters. In the end, "Millions" appears to lose its focus, leaving viewers puzzled about the overall message and the relevance of the spiritual elements in the story. The film's attempt to blend spiritual themes with materialistic concerns ultimately leads to a disjointed and unsatisfying narrative.
This may be the worst film I have ever seen. Don’t watch it just don’t
A delightfully whimsical, heart-warming comedy with a strong element of the fantastic to it. Two great child performances hold it together, as well as a decent James Nesbitt, making it hard to resist. Probably deserves more attention than it gets as a 'minor Danny Boyle film, it's identifiably his own creation and serves as a sweet counterpoint to Shallow Grave. Calling one of the boys Damian is a great touch.
It started out good, but then got really weird - overall, just a strange film! The young lead actor was very good!
Beautiful shot at the beginning with the boys cycling through the yellow flower fields. Beautiful stop motion and cgi during the house building scene. Holy shit this movie moves a very pleasantly fast pace. Perfect for kids. I like that Danny Boyles famous fast forwarded signature makes it in this movie like with the trains passing at a super fast speed. It's interesting to see how kids would spend the money. Instead of just hoarding it all away and keeping it a secret, they're sharing it with their friends and thinking about giving it to the poor. Danny Boyle has a wicked style. The way they edited and put together the train robbery scene was brilliant. A lot of fast paced movements with a shit ton of different shots. It's funny how the older brother is so obsessed with the economic side of things like numbers. Not to mention he's guarding the money so that he could use it to buy things he doesn't really need whereas the younger brother just wants to help out the poor. Goddamn I fucking hate how useless that one cop is. It's like everything's a joke for him, he doesn't care about anyone. This movie's an interesting take on the whole, "What would you do if you had a million dollars" but it's seen through the eyes of a child. I feel like this is a kids movie that may be too deep for kids and ends up being more for adults. There was a lot of religious symbolism and visuals. I feel like there's some deeper symbolism throughout the movie but I'm not really inclined to watch the movie again just to pick up on the subtle nuances. The movie had a great message that everyone should learn from but I feel like Danny could have worked on a different more interesting topic for a movie. It feels like Danny had to really hold back while making this movie since it's intended for kids.
Nothing worked for me in this, Maybe kids would find it more fun, but as an adult I was board out of my mind.
I have never before seen a movie so bad. There are lots of scenes that just shouldn't be there. I give it 1/2 star just because I didn't fall asleep.
Wicked fast and emotionally focused, this film does have many moments in the story that lack explanation, but it provides a wonderful show of visual direction and remarkable actors.
This movie really sucks, and it's inappropriate for children to be exposed to such superstitious nonsense presented as serious subject matter.
The film is a 6.5/10. Very simple comedy told in an Irish fashion. Certainly not Hollywood, which is often a good thing. Honest and to the point, the plot sends a positive message about charity to children and adults alike. Some scenes reflecting on the young protagonist's deceased mother, are real tear-jerkers. Family viewing recommended.
There's a few films I remember from my childhood as being particularly memorable for one reason or another. Jumanji scared the bejesus out of 4 year old me and I still remember sneaking downstairs to watch While You Were Sleeping, only to discover it was a gross romance. Millions sticks out like a sore thumb for a different reason. One of our final rentals from the local movie store before those went defunct, Millions utterly disturbed me as a child. The movie is oddly mature for a PG film, with undertones that confused me and had no business being in a children's film. Not to mention, the story and execution of this film is absolutely bonkers. The plot is basically a demented ride where two bratty kids decide what to do with a ton of money they essentially stole while a number of dysfunctional things occur around them. The result is a scatter brained, adult-y mess of a movie that is confusing and concerning at the same time. Don't take your kids or yourself, you will certainly regret it.
Finally got around to watching this one which has been on my radar since it came out, and I enjoyed it. The film is an entertaining fantasy/morality tale with lots of style courtesy of director Danny Boyle. Worth checking out!
millions is the worst film I have ever seen and with the worst and most unrealistic endings acting was an out rage
A little slow to grab me but once it did I was hooked! Alex Etel is superb; without him, this film wouldn't be half as good...he is charming, funny and incredibly cute. A beautiful film that will tug at your heartstrings.
