Miss Violence Reviews
An very uncomfortable movie that’s worth watching thanks to great direction and amazing performances
A deep film that explores the most mean-spirited, deceitful, and unbalanced aspects of the human soul. The film progresses very slowly through seemingly ordinary and quiet domestic settings, which are, however, terribly empty, squalid, and absurd. In these settings, evil gradually manifests in a crescendo, leading to a terrible climax that is not conclusive but rather hints at some continuation of the perverse family dynamics. Watching the film doesn't give the impression of a story unfolding, but rather a slow exposition of an ongoing, sick situation. In my opinion, this situation did not need an hour and a half of film; it could have been condensed into a 45-minute short.
Very slow movie. You will lose your focus in the first 30 mins.
Simply agonizing, how nauseous I got is no joke, plus it's pretty heavy. You can feel the sadness and emptiness in the eyes of the characters, it makes you feel sorry.
there is much more worse tragedies in the real life but seen in theetre, man it's feel harsh, said ones.
This film is morally very heavy, it is a difficult boulder to carry along the whole vision which in my opinion is too long, the film could have lasted much less and in any case be very valid and less heavy. But the film is very beautiful and very deep and to watch it you really need a great deal of patience and a great desire to take on a heavy weight.
Que filme forte.. mas muito bem feito. Nossa...pesado demais. Mas foda.
Deeply disturbing, but very compelling. The portrayal of the wife and children was very well acted, and both the script and the filming made their emotional ‘dampening down' too real. I found it very hard to watch, but I also could not walk away from it.
The film does is best to hide its true identity; a raw-heartless drama, with cold performances and unsettling moments that'll make mainstream viewers uneasy, and even if at times those moments work, the general atmosphere and artistic tone of the movie never goes beyond until its third act, making it a hard-to-digest experience that only foreign film lovers would mostly enjoy.
Horrendous. A family in agony from start to finish. Sadistic without shades of gray. Difficult to watch - no let-up. Ugly portrayals of sex The lightest note was Leonard Cohen's and the music does not last long.
Truly dark, sinister and disturbing film. A must watch for Social Workers and anyone who questions the difficult job a SW has. Still :::shivering::: here. Not for the feint hearted for sure.
