What a great way of mix two awesome work of composing and make you laugh
The music is amazing and vibrant.
"Music and Lyrics" is a uniquely charming and well thought out rom-com from the mid-2000s starring Hugh Grant as an aged 80s pop band has-been and Drew Barrymore as a young aspiring writer. The songs were bops and fit the storyline perfectly, the script - thorough and clever, film itself - well paced and felt like a full story in which the characters felt real, clear and in depth, and the progression - believable and earned. A funny and heartwarming film - that actually has a meaningful message. A definite watch in the genre.
Ignore the incredibly cheesy introduction, this was a very good film. Ft Hugh Grant as the lead role

This movie is underrated and indervalued. The script has many perfect lines that can be overlooked if you’re multi-tasking. I caught them the aecond time around. Hugh Grant was brave to play the role of a former pop star and sing & dance, and the effort is recognized, however the charm of the movie is the dialogue and relationship. Drew Barrymore is the perfect kinda quirky girl to walk into his life. For those who comment that the movie is predictable, I say all romantic comedies are - and thats why we came. 😀

In my opinion, I felt that the movie was very good, behind all this, the filmmaker was able to come up with the right festive details to congratulate the members of the behind-the-scenes team.

This movie is a romantic love movie. Even the song he sings in the movie is a lesson, it was one of my favorite movies. I heard that this is a movie based on a true story.
criminally underseen
My wife and I've watched this three times now over the past several years. It's a fresh take on a romantic comedy that doesn't follow the standard plots. Each of the main characters are going through their own journey as well as the one they take together. They hit it off initially for work reasons and then it grows to something neither of them expect. The tension in the plot is created by the pressure each of them are feeling in their own lives. It's organic to their characters and where they are in life and isn't a stupid/obvious plot device inserted just to move the story forward. It's a fun movie that is worth watching.
It's a beauty, but Mr. Hugh Grant cracks me out, he's so funny, the way how delivers the lines it makes me laugh so hard, another comfort movie for me.
Honestly forgot this movie existed, but I remember listening to the sound track everyday of my life, great great movie. It will forever live subconsciously in the back of my brain.

Gradevole l'aspetto musicale e la costruzione di personaggi non banali nonostante l'argomento fosse facilmente pronosticabile. Finalmente si vede un cantante non troppo star nella vita, un agente fedele ed alcuni aspetti interessanti delle loro personalità. Purtroppo sono decisamente meno interessanti i dialoghi e le situazioni che si creano durante il film; molto prevedibili e quasi mai accattivanti. Forse dare un taglio leggermente più serio e profondo avrebbe aiutato il film a diventare qualcosa di più; invece la scelta evidente è di restare sempre sul leggero e sul gradevole. Commedia meno riuscita della parte musical.
