Story-wise, Never Gonna Snow Again (...) is a healing journey much like Body/Ciało (2015). The snow falling on the characters in the finale has the same cathartic power of the frogs falling from the sky in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Magnolia (1999).

It examines, with a layer of magical realism and visual allegories, the socio-political condition of the Ukrainian immigrant, but I don't think even Alec Utgoff's solid effort prevents it from slowly falling like a flake of snow. [Full review in Spanish]

Too muted and contained to be a satirical comedy, too cold, and a little cryptic, but dazzling in its art design and composition, Never Gonna Snow Again ratifies Szumowska as an inescapable reference in Polish cinema. [Full review in Spanish]

"Never Gonna Snow Again" may leave viewers a bit confused, maybe even a little unsatisfied, with our protagonist's arc, but Utgoff is delightful from start to finish.

Finally, the Eastern European fable featuring a telekinetic masseuse that you've been waiting for.

It has a beguiling star, Alec Utgoff, and numerous moments that stick in your mind, but there's nothing deeply rewarding at the heart of it all.

Simultaneously gripping and sweetly bewildering.

This is a fairytale: but a fantasy with solidity and form.

A filmthat asks a question for every answer it gives, and whose crackerjack images leave you wondering, in the best of senses: wait, what did I just see?
| Original Score: 4/5 | Oct 7, 2021
A thoroughly engaging little weirdie, made with great rigor and just the right measure of black humor.
| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Aug 27, 2021
The movie is an intriguing but sometimes slow-paced portrait that quietly observes issues related to social classes and the environment, as well as the ripple effects of compassion.

To tell the truth, I was never truly hypnotized but never lost the interest either.
| Original Score: 3.5/5 | Aug 16, 2021
A captivating work of art with a very potent premise.

In the lead, Utgoff gives off a distinctive, alluring presence that's in sync with the film's otherworldly vibe.
| Original Score: 3.5/4 | Aug 12, 2021
Never Gonna Snow Again is an obscure, but often brilliant look at humans, their various differences, and the powerful magic of one man.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Aug 12, 2021
I'm not sure what to take from it other than some gorgeous photography. It never goes anywhere.

Consumerism, communism, and the weather. In any case, written and directed with subversive nihilistic glee, the film teases with a combo playful and sobering prophetic perspective on the way things are, or progressively will be.

Don't look for logic or literalness here, but rather magic and metaphor and let the film's transporting, imaginative elements take over.
