Not bad, but way to many English people in it for a Scottish film. It just wasn't as tense as it could have been.

Prostitution, Debt, Drugs, Credit Cards, Mens Toilets and this film starts getting interesting. The night is brought to the screen well with photography that still maintains its intimate presence. Music forces tension and thrill to the mind as the chase progresses. Planning is well highlighted however this places you in a false sense of security for the horror around the corner. Nibbles: Cognac.

Another shit British film with wooden acting that should be on the true movies channel the day after it hits cinemas.

So bad...My problem is that I'm too curious to stop watching it, I need to see what happens :P. This is a British movie btw...explains why it sucks.

The story of a sadistic game of cat and mouse is flimsy at best, but the frantic energy expelled in the chase sequence which forms the dominant part of this not too long feature just about works for it.

Suspenseful and dark. Worth a watch.

Actually pretty good but the pacing is horrible.

The film seems to be a commentary on the aggressive bankers that caused the collapse of the housing market in late 2006. If you listen carefully in scenes where they are sitting in the car, you can here a faint talk-radio discussion about the financial crisis. Included in the film are subtle clues like Dougray Scott's speech about lower-class people becoming leeches that the state will have to pay for (a direct political undertone about people on welfare programs). Another undertone relates to uncontrollable inflation where the Federal Reserve loans money at a rate faster than banks can cover up. In late 2011, news about the Fed went viral on the internet when a report surfaced, detailing how the Fed funneled 7.7 trillion dollars into financial institutions at a rate of 0.01%. TARP was $50 billion and the public knew about it. It seems rather strange that a film made in 2008 had so many references to the sub-prime crisis. Also, there is a theme "you either kill or be killed" in the movie which parallels the ideology of the bankers in America today. People keep relating this film to "The Game." If I remember correctly, "The Game" was about one wealthy brother playing a giant prank on his brother and the entire route was planned. That's completely different from this film. This film is more like the Richard Connell's short story "The Most Dangerous Game," which was also about a rich man hunting human "because he could." The film is widely misunderstood as the general public seems to have failed to relate the clues to the current events that were happening at the time. I could be wrong about the films depiction of the toxic asset agenda, but if people really thought about what was said in the film, the resemblances are realistically identical to events that happened just a couple years before the film's release

I don't agree with some of the reviews that were given for this film. I quite enjoyed this one. This feature was a game of cat and mouse, but a twisted game at that. Some of the performances were lacking, but I told me self I would be rewarded if I finished it all the way to the ending. I would say a must watch.

kinda strange but definately watchable

âNew Town Killersâ? is about two strange men who play a twisted game with poor youngster. They give a âmission: impossibleâ? and the bets are deadly. Experimental directing and gimmicks in the storytelling try their best, but the end result feels more lke a good try than a success. Even the slightly Kafkaesque ending rings a bit hollow, delivering a point but not doing so in a particularly accomplished manner.

A thrilling low budget film. The plot is lost at times but the end result is pretty decent! I really enjoyed this film of cat and mouse! Dougray Scott plays psycopath well!! June 28, 2010

not bad at all ... different view to "man hunting" .. worth watching ....

If I had the option I would give it 6.5 a lot better than an episode of taggart :p
