Old Yeller Reviews
This was awesome and kinda sad when Old Yeller left his former owner to join Travis. I’m surprised that Old Yeller wasn’t adopted by a child until his former owner traded Yeller to Travis. Travis felt really bad for Old Yeller fighting with most predators. This was a good story to watch and teaches me how to treat a dog fairly.
Expected it to be a bit more touching than it was but regardless, still a great coming of age story with some valuable lessons. Classic Disney story.
If you haven’t seen this movie you should. A classic tale of a boy and his dog, and the boy’s brother. This is the first of many Disney movies that feature the child actors of Tommy Kirk and Kevin Corcoran. The acting chops on both of them are not shown off well during this movie. I find that Kevin plays the same character in every movie and it does eventually get old. I do enjoy the period story telling of an old western farm and how life works on one. Dorothy McGuire does a good job as the mother and Jeff York returns as the annoying freeloading neighbor. This movie is worth checking out.
A timeless classic and one of my favorite movies!
This film has traumatized generations of American children.
My dad saw this movie as a kid. He was upset when yeller was shot. Terrible. Don't recommend
Not a bad story based on becoming a man.
This is a timeless classic. All children 8-12 yrs old should see this movie with their parents.

Old Yeller didn't win big awards, but it remains one of the most purely moving films about a boy growing up and making adult decisions. Spike, who played Old Yeller, is really the star. He does it all: fights bears and wolves, corrals the pigs and helps round up the new momma who just had a calf. He had a full life and will live on for another 60 or 600 years on our 온라인카지노추천 screens.
The end is all you will remember.
This is a great prime example of a coming of age tale. This furry tale will inspire the many stories to come from Old Yeller!
A cute film regarding 'Old Yeller' the dog. With that said, I can't say the film does anything to endear the kids to me, they come across as extremely unlikable - mainly due to the dialogue. Given Travis becomes the 'man of the house', they attempt to make him an adult whilst still being a child. In some parts it works, it others it truly doesn't. Arliss, the youngest, isn't portrayed that greatly either. The actor who plays Travis, however, is actually fairly impressive. When the filmmakers do their job properly, I do almost connect with the oldest son; I just lose that when the other side of things kicks in. The adults are far better in this film, with Jeff York producing the goods as Bud Searcy. Fess Parker (Jim), even in his minor role, and Dorothy McGuire (Katie) are decent too. The stuff with the dog is largely positive and heartwarming, but this production is let down by odd dialogue and questionable character behaviour from the children. Even so, it still makes for solid enough viewing all in all.
I thought this would be a feel-good movie but not for me. Too many characters I did not like. The small child was spoiled and never did help around the house. This was not the way families operated in those times...everyone helped. The middle boy never warmed up to me. The lazy man that kept showing up....what a waste of time. The Mom should've sent him packing! He was soooo annoying. The protective dog scenes were amazing. Never did finish the movie. Read the summary instead.
