Overboard Reviews
It's silly and predictable, but it's cute. Unlike the 2018 reboot at least I actually felt something, and I was rooting for the characters.
A cute classic, lots of fun, silliness and memorable lines. Shut up and eat your chequers😂😂 well used phrase in our house 😂 one to snuggle up with.
A great romance and hilarious plot. Definitely recommend it. 👍🏻
With amazing chemistry between kurt russle and goldie hawn, memorable and hilarious scenes of comedy, a cheesy, but satisfying ending makes overboard a 80s comedy classic
Ms. Hawn's ass gets this 1 4 stars by itself...sorry, not sorry🤷🏾♂️
I liked this more than I thought I would. It's "good clean fun" as the elders would say.
I loved this movie when I was a kid and still love it today I don't know who can day this movie isn't great you can actually see the love between Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell!!!
Una clásica comedia romántica con nostalgia
A good romantic comedy which is elevated to great by the obvious chemistry of the two leads who are both on great form. The concept of the movie is questionable (and it could have gone really badly in the wrong hands) but hey, it's handled well and it's a comedy so I can suspend belief and forgive that..
One of Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's best movies. Heart warming story, well acted and produced. The definition of romantic comedy. Should have been at least >75 on the Rotten Tomatoes scale.
Overboard definitely raises moral questions, but the film has a powerful dose of charming movie magic to heal the discrepancies and become a pleasantly funny romcom.
It's ok Goldie is plesent in most things but I do think she can be a serious actress too, remember the time and the target audience it's a little family fun. The movie doesn't take itself too serious
I love this film, it's my go-to movie when I need cheering up. Kurt and Goldie are magic onscreen.
The critics lack in culture. They have no idea what they're talking about..this movie is a classic.
Still a great film. Feel good and funny!
I just can't imagine how the 'critics' panned this movie! I go to the movies to be entertained and yes, the plot is thin and not realistic but who cares? It has charm and wit and romance. Goldie Hawn was superb!
It achieves what it sets out to do perfectly. Each and every scene is as important to the story as it is entertaining, making ‘Overboard' a classic that never fails to captivate on rewatch. Those saying that the concept is creepy need to get a life.
For the most part I really enjoyed watching this, especially because I went into it knowing it had a problematic premise that I had pre-decided to forgive as a relic of its time. I had never seen Kurt look so young before and I'd only seen Goldie as an old lady, so they both made compelling leads for me. I found myself willing to accept the wildly implausible scenarios the plot consisted of because of the quality jokes sprinkled throughout the dialogue, and the rich guy dancing on his yacht was a highlight. The only important detail I would have changed is that they went a scene or two further than necessary to establish that Goldie had been beaten down by the life Kurt was pretending she had, most notably the scene of her finished meal going uneaten because Kurt's friend was over to drink beer with him. Still solid!
