Dan Einav Financial Times The story of man and creature growing together is uplifting and yet, at times, both wearingly earnest and overly sentimental. Rated: 4/5 Apr 22, 2025 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times The result is a movie so sweet and soothing you’ll be forced to admit that sometimes the universe gives you exactly what you need. Apr 21, 2025 Full Review David Rooney The Hollywood Reporter The pangolin is such a unique beast -- this one hilariously feisty and driven -- and Thomas’ dedication to its care so touching that the captivating movie never loosens its hold. Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media The wildlife reserve where much of the film takes place is a gorgeous location teeming with life, including big game caught on camera, and marked by bright sun and orange-tinged sunsets. Apr 21, 2025 Full Review Shaina Weatherhead Collider While the fate of the pangolin is uncertain, this Netflix documentary sheds important light on a rare creature, and reminds us that there is so much about this world and its inhabitants that we know so little about. Sebastian Z I enjoyed Kulu's journey and to learn about Pangolins. Has a good vibe and definitely is worth watching. Despite the fact, that the love between the main actors seems to be a one way street. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/25/25 Full Review Slick R Interesting documentary. Pangolins are basically unicorns... Mythical creatures that you will never see. After watching this you will wonder how did this species survive all the way since the dinosaur age? They are near the bottom of the food chain, they have zero teeth so they only eat termites and ants, they cannot defend itself against larger animals... and instead of breeding the pangolin to increase the numbers of this extinct animal, they simply release the single pangolin back into the wild after it reaches 8.6 kg, where hyenas, lions, tigers, etc. all live and can easily eat the pangolin for a snack. The only way this species survives is by numbers and even then it would still be endangered. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/23/25 Full Review Ilyas Z As A Documentry, I'm Impressed:) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Asia C I really didn't like it because of the volunteer's way to take care of the animal: continuous human touch for example, is not functional for its releasing in nature. A wild animal is not a pet and in this "documentary' there aren't competent zoologists or ethologists or similar... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/21/25 Full Review Read all reviews
