Pee-wee's Big Holiday Reviews
Pee wee is back!! A worthy third entry into the franchise. We should've had at least six of these movie's. Tim Treakle
I don't understand these reviews saying this movie is inappropriate for kids. One even complained about "nudity" (there is nothing beyond what you see at the beach every day). If you think this has too much "sexual innuendo," stay away from Bugs Bunny; it will blow your mind. Is this as good as Pee-Wee's Big Adventure? Nah. Is it fun, silly, nutty, delightful, and worth a watch? Definitely.
Too many sexual references and it is in no way kid friendly. So much nudity I had to leave the theater.
Where it lacks in humour, it makes up for in goofy random fun.
SOO NERVIG WIE KANN SO EIN IDEELOSER NERVIGER FILM SO GUTE BEWERTUNGEN HABEN?!?!!?
I never knew the peewee franchise from the past, but this was just aweful. My kids chose to watch this tonight and it was just terrible. The jokes aren't funny and it is so pretentious.
It's just a silly fun movie of a silly guy trying to make it to his friend Joe's fun birthday party and meeting silly fun characters. Just a silly fun movie, doesn't get any better than that (The balloon gag went on for way too long but it made my mom laugh so. just gonna assume I'm not the target audience for that but)
I don't know this character and I found the movie ridiculous, boring and never made it clear to me what he wants to do. But I see that people like it, so it was not a movie for me.
super funny and 100000% better than the original
I started this movie when it first came out, but stopped it because I found the movie a waste of time. I came back to it because a member of my family persuaded me to watch it in exchange to watch the original. It was rough going. I loved Pee Wee's Big Adventure and wanted to love this movie. However, the bizarre innuendos were not appropriate for the audience this was geared to. I did laugh out loud on a couple occasions for the mere stupidity of the jokes. They were so bad that they were good. Regardless, I would not recommend this for children. I watched it on Netflix.
A few funnies but not the same pee wee
While far better than Big Top Pee Wee it isn't as good as the timeless original but it's a decent movie
The movie was alright, but unfortunately, Paul Reuben's age is catching up with him and his character is losing much of the childlike quality it used to have. His friendship with Joe was slightly suggestive of a homoerotic relationship which was very uncomfortable to watch at times. Simone makes a reappearance which was fun to watch.
Three stars is probably very generous. but I love Pee Wee and this was reminiscent of "Pee Wee's Big Adventure" which is a hilarious classic. This one... not so much, but it does have its moments.
Pee' Wee's Big Holiday demonstrates how reminiscing on a favorite childhood movie character is only effective when doing so with his or her origin works. 31 years have passed since PEE' WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE; and despite Paul Ruben barley aging a day in his looks and personality, his 2016 Netflix movie delivers zero modernization perks.
The first 1/3 was v painful. Used to love pee wees playhouse. This might be okay for the very young... def not so awesome for a nostalgia watch. Got up to 32 minutes, then needed to skip ahead to keep going. The ending is cute, Joe Mang is funny without the cringe, and it is less cringey toward the end.
I enjoyed it, but it just seems like it's trying too hard to recapture old magic. Though I'm definitely biased. Can't tell if Pee-Wee Herman is just a character whose time has come and gone or if I'm just too old now to appreciate it properly anymore. Either way. It's worth a watch.
There isn't much separating Pee Wees Big Vacation from his prior Big Adventure besides the strong addition of Joe magniella and others, but it certainly is nice to revisit Paul Ruebans obscenely loveable iconic character. Leaves you feeling warm and happy inside by the time the credits roll, and that's really all you need.
Would rate it 0 stars if I could. I've never seen a less funny movie in my entire life. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm not American and the humour doesn't translate? But watching a 65 year old man act like a child is just cringe worthy
Interesting parts for the Pee Wee wheel house, but I found it stale compared to the character in his prime.
