D P I understand the importance of the horror genre in the movie industry. It's an entry point for directors and actors to move up the ladder. But that is also the reason why this genre is littered with so many subpar films. A Haunted Camera is a unique premise & the photographs being "clues" & having powers connected to the people in them is cool! A con is I wish certain people got more screen time & the scares could've been amped up a little. Can anyone make a horror movie where the characters act like an actual sentient being? Gawd, these B flicks are worse than formula, they're formula with half of the ingredients missing. Hot Babes like Madelaine Petsch she was like Marione Crane or Tina Gray. Katie Steven, Priscilla Quintana and Kathryn Prescott the protagonist written like the shy Alice Johnson from A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 The Dream Master (1988) she which pictures of her friends put in the mirror. There is one of the group who The Creature murders his girlfriend and blames the protagonist like Mackinley from Final Destination 3 (2006) and dies in jail like Rod Lane from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). The plot was like A Nightmare on Elm Street with a killer who turns supernatural to take revenge after the death. It also resembles Ouija (2014) where Lin Shaye an old woman tricks the protagonist or Truth or Dare (2018) by Lucy Hale. The Creature was like Freddy Krueger, the murderous father, the Sheriff played by Mitch Pilegi knows the serial killer as Lieutenant Donald Thompson from A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984). In the end, the protagonist Bird saves the day at the cost of her ring and pinky fingers as a yakuza retribución or give in sacrifice like the films Hostel (2005), Sinister 2 (2015) and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) where the protagonists survive but lose their ring and pinky fingers.
