Slapstick action comedy has inspired action sequences and eye-popping stunts, but leans a little too heavily on silly, outdated humor. Spectacular opening and finale sequences bookend a second act composed almost entirely of kitschy filler.

Police Story is a great movie. The actions are none stop with Jackie and his crew showing their martial arts skills, coordination, and camera movement like never before. The story is good providing a solid ground for a sequel. In my opinion, this movie along with The Armor of God are the two best action films of Jackie.

Adoro Jackie Chan, mas esse é o tipo de filme, com muitas cenas de ação, balés de lutas, e comédia pastelão, estilo "Os Trapalhões" não me agrada, mas é o auge dos anos 80, e impossível não reconhecer tudo ensaiado e executado milimetricamente, perfeito, Chan ainda fraturou uma costela e queimou as mãos por erro do eletricista, um filme muito prestigiado e exaltado, tanto que são 4 sequências e um reboot (assistindo a todos na sequência, mesmo não curtindo), merecidamente premiado...

This martial arts movie was really good. Jackie Chan, Brigitte Lin, Maggie Cheung, Bill Tung, and the rest of the cast did an excellent job in this movie. The plot of the movie was action-packed, thrilling, and intense. It was an awesome crime movie with martial arts on taking down a Chinese drug lord. If you haven't seen this classic movie yet, check it out sometime. It's a definite must see.

Everyone must see this movie at least once in their lifes.The stunts are insane! Jackie Chan really put his life on the line for this movie,as you know he really got hurt during the making of this movie,as well as the other actors got hurt too.This movie delivers on both action and acting.Absolute must see this classic action movie! 10/10

The practical effects and stunts are insane! I'd say show this to anyone who argues for modern cg, but they probably wouldn't have the attention span to read the subtitles.

An average story, but the level of creativity with Jackie Chan comedy and actions scenes defiantly leave a memorable impression upon the viewer.

o filme é legal, jackie chan um excelente protagonista, as cenas de ação são excelentes, vale lembrar a cena em que desce o shopping pelo poste e ainda ele teve queimaduras de 2 grau pelo corpo depois da cena, sacrificou pelo filme. o roteiro é bacana, mas as cenas de ação são muito melhores do que se esperava.

"Police Story" is a great showcase of Jackie Chan's early work, as well as a fun 80s cop movie. I think the film features both an exceptional opening sequence and a finale. I do feel the movie does take a more humorous direction in the middle, and while I prefer the action elements of the movie, I do feel it is consistently entertaining. Despite being a foreign film it still has the cheesy and entertaining feel of any 80s American action vehicle and I think this is a solid movie of that era. Overall, it is light and fun and Jackie Chan's commitment to the action sequences is tremendous and worth watching.

As much as I like Jackie Chan, I must say the majority of his movies aren't really that great. This, however, is his best and it's worthy to be considered as one of the best movies ever made. Everything that's right about movie-making is in this movie.

Minha opinião: Jackie Chan estava em um período de transição do estilo que trouxe ele para os holofotes o estilo #Kungfu para agora para os filmes de ação. Ele havia passado pelos EUA e a Europa, mas não permitiram Jackie produzir ao seu estilo, então esta de volta a Hong Kong e produz Police Story, que estorou em toda a ásia, Hong Kong, Japão,.... Um filme que realmente marca uma nova faze dos filmes asiáticos. E também onde vai nascendo o estilo do esporte #leparkour um filme de ação com #coreografia que deixariam os ocidentais de boca aberta, mas que este reconhecimento veria anos após. A cena dos carros descendo uma comunidade, a perseguição no ônibus, a malandragem para enganar a testemunha, a cena dos telefones, até chegar ao gran finale que as cenas no shopping. Lembro-me de quando assisti pela 1ª vez meus olhos não piscaram um segundo. Pois este estilo de ação, não víamos nos filmes de #hollywood Realmente um filme de grande divisor de águas. E Jackie impondo seu estilo, muita ação e humor. Parabéns a este gênio chamado Jackie Chan. Sou seu Super Fã. Creio que assisti a 95% de seus filmes. Roteiro e enredo muito bem elaborado e trazendo o estilo Jackie Chan para as telonas. Vale apena assistir? Com certeza, mesmo com quase 40 anos da sua estreia. Nota: 9,25

Without a doubt, the main - and arguably only - reason to watch "Ging chaat goo si" are the fight choreographies and in general the stunts, which are not only excellent but also occasionally downright insane. Other than that, the script is cliched, sketchy and not bereft of plot holes, and the humour often falls flat and is rather out of place. The dedication and expertise of the legendary Jackie Chan and his crew are certainly commendable but cannot result in a great film on their own.
