Ryan Gilbey New Statesman In taking his inspiration from Jimmy Savile, Holness has placed at the centre of his film the sort of bogeyman who could give even Michael Myers nightmares. Jan 26, 2019 Full Review Dennis Harvey Variety The film has a striking aesthetic and atmospheric assurance that takes a particular British miserabilism into near-abstract terrain, not unlike Cronenberg's vaguely similar (if more rigorously plotted) "Spider." Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Pat Brown Slant Magazine In the end, there's little payoff for all the repetitive series of evocative visions and mute stares. Rated: 2.5/4 Oct 28, 2018 Full Review Jorge Loser Espinof ... One of the most unique and memorable films that the genre has produced in the past decade. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 5/5 Oct 30, 2024 Full Review Bianca Garner Filmotomy Atmosphere is well constructed, but never realizes the horrifying final confrontation with repressed trauma which is somewhat a letdown...the screenplay feels a little underdeveloped and sparse in places, and at some points the film feels stuck on repeat. Oct 11, 2024 Full Review Andrew Murray The Upcoming The most disturbing bedtime story you'll ever see, Possum ... is a deeply unsettling tale that gradually crawls under the skin to shake its audience to the very core. Nick A I gotta be honest… this one just did not do it for me. At all. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/25 Full Review john b Deeply disturbing. Philip is mentally ill and obsessed with a strange spider like puppet with a human head. For some reason, he is forced to return to his deceased parents home where his crazy uncle Maurice lives. The house is filled with soot from the fire that no one has cleaned. Every where Philip goes seems old, dark and dirty. Philip is taunted by bad memories which is explained at the end. This is not a pleasant film, but will appeal to David Lynch fans. Moody ,dark and depressing, but in a good way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/22/25 Full Review Smackie u Saw this on a top films list. The writer must have been on acid. What a complete slog with no pay off Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Audience Member Slow, grinding, creepy, upsetting. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/01/24 Full Review Rondy P Wow what a great movie, its certainly Not a movie for everyone, but a psychological Horror that shook me at the core. What a great Atmosphere and great acting. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/13/24 Full Review Fire F Waste of time, and extremely boring Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/06/24 Full Review Read all reviews
