Rams Reviews
Sit back and absorb the beauty of artistry. The cast is perfectly matched to their characters and bring a genuine feel of compassion.
This was such a good movie with great acting and storyline. I prefer action or sci-fi but I can appreciate a good drama/comedy for a change of pace. It's definitely worth the watch.
I very much enjoyed Sam Neill's part in this move - I found it difficult to recognize him in this movie. Nice, watchable movie that blends the tragedy that can strike peoples lives with a beautiful impression of how they survive it. Toughness and tenderness all in one.
The extent of silence and rejection between the brothers seemed exaggerated as did the agent's acting. The storyline and difficulties of the families was heart wrenching and well presented.
Poignant comical brilliant relevant and overall a great watch I thoroughly enjoyed this movie from the beginning to the very end
So loveley. A heartearming and touching story. Perfect cast and beautiful sheep. No seriously it is ver worthwhile watching!
Interesting on so many levels, this film portrays 2 brothers who haven't spoken in 40 years. Well acted and written. Love being slowly given hints as to what their divide was related to. And the very best ending.
Typically laconic Australian humour. Loved it.
Rams (C-) (72) Oddly entertaining.. had so many weird moments though... Loved some scenes and others felt very odd.... Not always in a good way.
Rams – An Aussie Re-run This Australian remake of a prizewinning 2015 Icelandic film classic (of the same name) makes for a pleasing watch but goes for a lighter approach than its famous predecessor. The bright Western Australian countryside is well utilized as against the bleak, frosty, windblown setting of the dramatic original. Performances are uniformly fine with all bringing this well-made, sorrowful tale, of family dysfunction to a satisfying (albeit upbeat) close. Antony Partos provides the music score.
Love Michael Caton, but I was lukewarm on 'Rams' the original from Iceland, and feel entirely the same about the Aussie version! Part screwball comedy, and part feel-good, but not enough of either. It just didn't work all of the time and while there are moments, there may not be enough for everyone's taste. If you don't like this, go check out Caton in 'The Castle'. Final Score: 6/10
Great fun, with meat. Insightful portrayal of rural life, Australian style. Sam is a superstar, of course, and Lionel is special..and everyone does a great job.
Despite an unpromising premise, Rams is an unpredictable and entertaining Australian movie. Two older brothers are rural Australian sheep breeders who haven't been on speaking terms for years. One brother has his stuff together and the other doesn't. This story is about the relationship between the two and the small farming community they live in. Sam Neill gets the majority of the air time and does a great job. The script is skillfully crafted while being built from an extraordinarily mundane foundation. Because of accents and slang, the dialogue can often be difficult to understand. Subtitles don't help with the slang (Fair dinkum mate). Rams is a pleasant surprise that almost earns 4 stars.
