i was entertained from start to finish

I'm a sucker for action movies set during Christmas. I also love a classic hardboiled neo-noir (think Fargo or Pulp Fiction). Sadly, while this movie promised both, it's contrived, overly-convoluted plot kept this movie from being truly great. Had the creators fleshed out one of their half-baked ideas, maybe I wouldn't have had to suspend my disbelief as often and the twist ending might've had a greater impact.

For the most part an excellent movie that builds to a great, satisfying ending. We watch it every Christmas.

Too many twists, at first it was awful but then all changes, and then all changes all over again, so I don't know… I guess I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt. All things aside the interpretation of Charlize Theron it's mind blowing.

This was a movie I can watch over and over I like the plot of the movie as well

I dont see what the big deal is with people not liking this movie? I thought it was a lot of fun with great dialog. It has an all star cast and is worth seeing.

Arguably one of the worst movies ever made. And that's coming from someone who regularly tries to watch terrible movies. Most films can still manage to be somewhat enjoyable when they're this level of illogical and poorly written, this film cannot. There was essentially nothing enjoyable about it. Wish I could give it 0 stats and erase the memory if anyone unfortunate enough to sit through the insanely long run time. The existence of this movie is an embarrassment to the entire film industry as a whole. I'm appalled it got any budget, made any of it back or let any of these actors continue a career. I know we're a wasteful country with extremely low standards but this was truly an all-around disgrace, especially to the writers. No suspension of disbelief is remotely possible with a plot this moronic. Any alternate use of the money and talent that went into making this film a reality would've been preferable. If you've somehow convinced yourself you enjoyed this, seek help.

Definitely not your typical heartwarming Christmas movie, loaded with action and suspense, and great performances by an all-star cast.

I don't care what the critics say. Next to "Die Hard", Lethal Weapon" and "The Long Kiss Goodnight" this is one of the best holiday action thrillers ever made. Tis the season...

A rather inventive story with a great plot and was well executed by a talented cast- but it was Sinise who stole the show.

Actually for an avid thriller movie watcher , this movie kept me hooked , obviously Ben Affleck is great , Charlize Theron is great as well , and "monster" is great as well . I think that the bad critics was due mainly to a slow , sluggish start of the movie (first 10 minutes). Also I have just watched 2020, so maybe with time has gotten better (like a good wine )

Once again I'm questioning my own taste in movies. I thought the movie was f@#$ amazing. How it has a low score is beyond me.

It's not perfect. But it delivers some action.

Not sure why this movie received such poor ratings. It is filled with nonstop exciting action, it has a great story and a large group of wonderful actors. Outstanding movie, I would highly recommend it to anyone..
