Don't know why everyone has been so mean, this was a straight forward story exploring human cloning. It was entertaining, good acting and just a strong story line. It is not a thinky film there was no exploration of the morals and ethics. I quite liked that they didn't. Was a straight forward good to watch film

Keanu Reeves hangs up the John Wick suit for this one, playing a scientist, Husband and father of three. Working on Lazarus like trials, he suddenly finds himself in dire need to perfect his procedure when a car wreck takes the lives of his family. The writing is spotty, and the CGI is horrendous (anyone else remember The Lawnmower Man?), but it's well acted enough to be mildy entertaining. I wouldn't suggest buying it, but if you can stream it or something, it's worth a watch.

One measure I use to gauge the quality of a film is if I can remember the ending. I had trouble remembering how this ended. I read the synopsis, and was like, oh yeah! I remember now! That's not a good sign. I never have trouble recalling the ending to a movie I was thoroughly invested in. It wasn't total trash. It was just unnecessary space in Hollywood.

A pretty good effort exploring the replication concept. I did feel the techno gobbledygook phase was a tad protracted. There was just something about the directorial choices and focus of the story that lost my interest. Characters reacted oddly/numbly to their situation. The acting was reasonable, though scarcely captivating. The ending started to fray and the sugar coated finale was a little hard to swallow. Having said that, this was not a terrible movie.

First of all, Keanu brought me here. I know for a fact that the guy has a really good sense about how good a script is and this script was basically before it's time or literally at the exact time. Now, in 2025, I can see why some would possibly pay critics to lie about how bad a really good movie is in 2018/19 about an upcoming type of technology, esp., if it could scare the public away from the technology ( and thereby the profit, via military or medical means). The movie was weird and creepy but dealt fairly realistically with the tension behind a certain " neural- chip" technology that could make true biophyisology history...into the future. Acting was fine...while plot holes exist because of the obvious complexity of the subject matter, suffice it to say, this was a really good movie that left me wanting a sequel. Watch the thing for yourself and just get to know Chat Gpt for yourself while he is still your friend. Keanu was also in the Matrix you know, so watch out. Entry Terminated, but I'll Be Back. :)

This movie was pretty bad but still entertaining to watch. The acting was mediocre and the plot buildup was very poorly put together. The main issue with the acting was there wasn't enough chemistry between the two main characters (William and Mona Foster). The two seemed to care more about Zoe than they did each other... And Zoe wasn't even in the majority of the film. Will and Mona didn't kiss or even hug each other, the screen time for the family dinner was very brief. Which isn't normally an issue but for this movie that component was of very high importance. I felt almost zero intimacy from the characters in this movie, and I don't know if I should blame the actors/actresses, directors, script writers or who. It almost felt like one of them liked the other, but the other didn't feel the same way, and I can't tell who liked who. To add to this, I didn't really feel a sense of devastation from William from the accident. It seemed like a combination of screenwriting and acting here that was poor. Keanu is more of a stoic character so emotional devastation isn't his strong suit, but even the actual words being used just didn't fit the gravity of the situation. Keanu was a good fit for the movie, but there were some elements that exposed his weaknesses (like emotional devastation and family intimacy) that were really exacerbated by lazy writing. The climax was also just terrible. After Mona learned "the truth" she handled it VERY WELL. There wasn't any denial, skepticism, or disbelief that I expected. The discovery of Zoe was briefly mentioned and therefore completely botched. Again, I was expecting a really good scene here where Mona discovers Zoe and has a mental breakdown but the directors opted to just casually mention her and have 1 glass break, very lazy writing. John Ortiz did an amazing job with his role. He played his part very well and I felt immersed in his character. But some of the screenwriting... Ugh. The wording the actor was forced to use was just terrible. His mannerisms and body language and acting was great but the wording used was awful, and I'm pretty sure that's the director's fault. The actual idea of the movie was 5/5 stars, coupled with John's great performance is really what made this movie entertaining to watch until the end. Keanu was neutral and the fact everything was poorly put together is what made the experience feel lukewarm in the end. I put most of the blame on screenwriting because this wasn't a hard movie to make a solid 4/5.

I don't get the bad reviews. I was completely entertained. And if you need some sort of socially redeeming element to make it worth your time, with AI tech winding up, we're getting perilously close to the world described in this film, which causes any number of questions to come to mind. I thought the script, acting, and CGI were all perfectly adequate, if anything, it might have run a little long. I don't know what people want, maybe they want more guns, sex, drugs, and bad language, of which there was hardly any here, to call it entertainment. Maybe lacking these ubiquitous elements, people can't even recognize a decent film anymore.

I must be crazy. I absolutely love sci-fi and I really enjoyed this one. If anyone asked me should I watch it I would definitely say yes. I don’t understand why certain individuals gave this movie bad reviews. As I stated in this review I totally recommend watching it.

Didn't get beyond the 25 minute mark. Implausible, poor script and too much given away too soon. Can't comment on the performances of the actors, as we didn't hang around to see any development- but it wasn't promising when you don't like any of the characters.

The idea for this film was there, but it was as reinforced as a cardboard castle on a particularly rainy day. What I mean by that is that the CGI was god-awful, the scientific terminology was thrown in for good measure, and I don't think I've seen worse acting before in my life. The plot is messy and the ending makes no sense at all - it was simply a forced happy ending. It would have made more sense to leave things as they were, to fit with the already screwy plotline. Better give this film a miss if you want to keep an hour or two of your life unwasted.

I heard about the state of this movie a few years back and decided to give it a watch. I had to get my brother to watch this with me and it was worth it. The script and acting of this movie is shallow and soulless but damn was it not hilarious to watch. The director of this movie must of had some serious dirt of Keanu to get him to act in this diasterclass of a movie. It feels like a whole season of a terrible tv show packed into one.

Standby to initiate neural damage! This movie proves just how wooden an actor Keanu Reeves actually is. Astonishingly bad.

Awful. Bad acting. Bad story. Truly disappointing.

You have to suspend belief for quite a bit, but the latter half of the movie moves quickly and energetically and all ends up right in the end. Sort of.

Keanu just doesn't cut it in the movie. Disappointing acting in many places (and I have a lot of respect for him). The plot is promising but too many things can be questioned. Alice Eve was good on the other hand.

Will.i.am defies all natural order to bring a rather bleak prophecy of the future that attempts to shape it on modern interests of greed and power. Or it's just telling a story, who knows

I think this movie is good and I would watch it again and again. Why do you think Keanu willing to get involved in making this movie as well Alice and John? Rotten tomatoes should think twice before simply put a very low rating. You got to respect someone elses effort. And you should or did you not realized this movie touches one of the most controversial issue in this modern world erq? "What if?" In case you choose to ignore...

What a great movie with an interesting plot that raises real questions we will soon be facing. A scientist's great love for his family, his children and beautiful wife, whom he would do anything for. Breaking every rule, but for good (unlike the backers). Corruption, malfeasance and tyranny, evil killers, how could we have guessed that. Obviously the critics won't like it, exposure and raising real questions, and they're getting paid and have families at home. I can't tell if the bad audience reviews are because they are so ignorant of science they should have paid more attention in high school or because they're moles, I'd guess most the former. Great acting, great plot, great ending with a followup surprise. People really should learn what's going on in the world today like neuralink and even chatGPT transformers, although they didn't exist in 2019 they most certainly were in progress.
