The Rescuers Down Under Reviews
I remember seeing this as a kid, I loved it and still loved it, just no so good as I remembered, but hey the movie still gets me nostalgia
This movie should be 100% on tomatoes! ITS ENTERTAINING, stimulating, smart, and magnificent from beginning to end! If you don’t think so then fight me in hand to hand combat!
Yes, this one is rare sequel that surpasses the original, the visuals, characters, the cinematography, voice acting, and a badass villain McCleach (George C. Scott)
This might be my all-time favorite Disney movie. The animation for the time was spectacular and still is, specially for when Marahute and Cody were flying together in the first 10 minutes. Mc Leach is a menacing villain, which’s presence is felt as a real threat. Bernard and Bianca despite not being in the movie too much compared to The Rescuers (1977), they are still pretty solid protagonist, with Bernard having a great character growth. This movie set the standards for animation and it’s endlessly rewatch able, and enjoyable for kids and adults. Hope more people get to see this underrated masterpiece.
Giddily old-fashioned and light-hearted, 'The Rescuers Down Under' is a worthy successor even if it loses the quiet maturity of its predecessor.
this is best that we see
Only the beauty a the beast is beter than this disney movie.
Far far better than the first
This Movie is so Wonderful. Tristan Rogers at its finest for voicing Jake. I wish Jake should get his own movie that is a sequel after this one where he has to go to a different world to stop a villain who is more sinister than McLeach, even though that would never happen.
A childhood favorite.
Bernard and Miss Bianca are back in the first Disney animated sequel. Once again Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor reprise their roles and do a great job. The addition of John Candy as Wilbur is welcome and adds some great comedic scenes and lines to the movie. The background animators/artists really stepped up their game in this movie as the Australian outback looks amazing. One of the best flight scenes in animation is in this movie and I think it is worth checking out just to see that. The villain is forgettable, and there is a love triangle story that I thought was worthless as Bernard is trying to propose to Miss Bianca. I will give credit to Cody, who seems more kid-like and I believe this movie breaks the animated kid character curse of the last two decades. If you liked the previous movie you may also enjoy this one.
The theme is consistent where two mice go and rescue a boy from a man who is poaching a bald eagle. This a must see as John Candy has an amazing voice over performance
This honestly just a weak sequel to the Rescuers. I can not for the life of me remember a single thing that happened in this movie. It’s just that bland and forgettable.
The rescuers down under is my most favorite Disney film. I give this movie. A 10/10
Very cool animation and good story
In my opinion, one of the 2 best Disney animated films of all time. The other being "The Great Mouse Detective".
Absolutely gorgeous animation, loveable characters, very entertaining. John Candy's Wilbur was a delight, as expected, and the villain is a proper dark Disney villain with nothing sympathetic about them that we need to see more of these days. This movie was part of Disney's renaissance for a reason, and deserves to be treasured as one.
To much act 1 and barely enough act 2. But still a must see.
Not aged all that well. Pretty dumb, but good for kids.
I couldn't believe that they were able to capture the beauty and wonder of Australia in more ways than one. As for the rest of the movie, THE RESCUERS DOWN UNDER is a wonderfully crafted and absolutely hilarious sequel with spectacular visuals.
