I usually love historic Scottish/medieval dramas, but this slow moving, obviously low budget affair is tiresome as it spends most of the movie time, wallowing on the care the main character experiences from a poor rural family (and beautiful young lady) before he musters an army to take back Scotland. That is, you never see the big event, get a full scope of what the historic battle meant for Scotland or details of how it happens. Disappointing waste of an evening. Better to rewatch Braveheart again.

Absolutely loved it. Great acting. Great script. Wonderful cast. Historical and compelling.

Good acting, great music, got me somewhat invested in the characters, made me feel a bit. Too long, occasionally dragging, veery light on the action department, and would like little more Bruce on the screen. Onewatchmovie 6+/10

What a sad, slow, depressing movie. And you don't even get to see Bruce reclaim the throne.

It is a slow film. But a deeply moving story. As to should you watch it? If you love Andor, yes. If you love Rise of Skywalker , no.

Robert the Bruce is severely lacking in Bruce. Doesn't have a lot of Robert in it either. Could be called story about family Robert the Bruce once looked at. What Robert the Bruce does have is lots of strong independent medieval women, interior shots of stone buildings and beautiful snowy landscapes. The film should have been called 'single mother finds man in snow'

Don't waste your time. Rent Braveheart. This movie was so boring.

God this was such a bore. I'd rather watch a feckless drunk weave his way round Edinbrugh Castle. This was 'Care Bears' compared with 'Braveheart'. I see it only made £100k in the UK out of theatregoers. Like me they must have felt that was two hours poorly spent...

Limited budget historical swashbuckler sequel to Braveheart is way too talky and stumbles around with it's good ideas and noble intentions.

It's hard to imagine how you could make a movie this boring. Clearly an attempt by a washed up actor to try and find some sort of relevance by cashing in on the Independence movement and Braveheart. It's like Carry On The Bruce, without any of the humour or character depth.

As a fan of Braveheart was looking forward to this. Some action in the beginning then alot of nothing very boring and just watching Robert pottering about. The biggest kick in the teeth was at the very end it actually tells you Robert won a decisive battle against the English to gain Scotland it's Freedom. Why was that not in it... Seems pretty important. Awful and disappointed.

It's always a pleasure to watch a great history movie such as Robert The Bruce. I highly recommend it.

In un contesto storico piuttosto noto in ambito cinematografico; si narrano le vicende di Robert The Bruce, ma lo si fa in una chiave molto familiare che a tratti scade quasi nella soap opera. Sono totalmente tralasciate le gesta e i compagni, per concentrarsi solo ed esclusivamente su un periodo della sua vita, non noto alla storia, in cui fu salvato da una famiglia che lo difese e lo curò. Troppa poca azione e decisamente troppo spazio a sogni e visioni.

) Creepy ex-actor dresses up as Robert the Bruce and pays out of work actors - desperate enough to sell out on any acting principles they had - to 'have a go' at a Scottish accent. It goes beyond 'so bad it's good' and reaches 'so bad it's, bad, really bad, really, really bad'.

To have the original actor who played Robert The Bruce in Braveheart to reprise his roll was a treat, but I feel this movie missed out on a big opportunity with the ending.

Thought it was pretty good to watch... until the end.... Such a high with a WTF last 2 scenes....

What a bore. I legit almost passed out while watching this movie. Maybe these old medieval movies don't work for me. The story of Robert the Bruce could be done properly with the right people and budget but Hollywood never does these medieval movies right. In the end I wasn't expecting much but I wish it did something different.

Unlike most war movies this tells a tale from the life of Robert the Bruce king of Scotland. Many of us who are descendants of the Brus know many such tales. It gives humanity to the history of a free Scotland and hope for a new free Scotland.
