Safety Not Guaranteed Reviews
Fan-freakin-tastic, fun, unique, and guaranteed entertainment. This film was a delightful surprise. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone of any age.
It's funny. It's touching. It's cynical. Yet it's still a film sprinkled with fairy dust
Plausible plot my ass! Time travel? Not quite yet. Horrible acting? Yes.
Not a wasted minute in this movie! It’s realistic and whacked-out at the same time, it’s firmly rooted in a plausible plot but there’s a sufficient number of deviations to make it incredibly interesting—and the romantic element is left almost entirely unsaid. Best of all, it’s not at all a thriller in the traditional sense but every scene, you’re waiting to see what happens next!
A story of finding a true partner for your craziest idea
One of the worst movies ever created. Completely fails in the humor department and has mind numbingly boring love story.
Great indie film, Jake is one of the best
Clever plot, great acting.
It's a journey that leaves you wondering, in the best way possible! If you need a feel-good movie with geeky-outcast-scifi vibes, I recommend this!
this movie HOLDS UP!! what could be better than the natural chemistry between Aubrey Plaza and Mark Duplass?? so funny and smart a total must-see
Casting, pace, and quirky tone of this movie is a joy. Love the ending. One of my go to favourites
One of the best made movies I have watched , each part was so we'll put together it felts like a movie made perfect .
Utter waste of time, no idea where the RT ratings on this one are coming from. The half star is for Aubrey Plaza, the only good thing about the movie.
Safety Not Guaranteed makes me a believer ... in magic, in journalism, in time travel, in music, in good writing, or maybe just believe in the power of belief.
it has a nice theme, the performances are really good, but it's a nice movie, it exceeded my expectations, I just thought that the movie takes a while to get going, the first 40 minutes are really slow.
I LOVED this movie! It's fantastic. One big issue though—they drop the R-word twice. That disgusts me. I would've given it 5 stars if not for that.
Very awkward and fun to watch. Awesome ending.
Fun movie , can’t go wrong with Aubrey Plaza
Based on a classified ad that turned out to be a joke, Safety Not Guaranteed is a fun, unpretentious flick that isn't game changing, but certainly keeps your attention, and will win you over by the time the credits roll. Mark Duplass, a man who specialises in playing characters you're not sure you can trust, gives us a wannabe time traveller with a likeable personality, but there's something about the way he acts and talks that keeps you suspicious of him. Aubrey Plaza convincingly plays a downtrodden graduate who starts to fall for this quirky werido, and the fact that their relationship is given time to develop and not rushed makes it all the more believable. I've heard complaints that not enough is done to create any sense of danger, so there's no real threat or suspense, but I think our inherent distrust of Duplass, as well as his paranoia, does create a sense of danger. It's a film you could easily call likeable, inoffensive and whatever else, but it does address issues of loneliness, being an outcast and being unable to determine who is lying and for what reason. There's film that have explored these ideas more thoroughly, but Safety Not Guaranteed is still a movie that'll put a smile on your face.
I would honestly say, I just watched this movie on Oct 17, 2022. I've seen it on various lists of great movies but I've been skeptical. Many movies are a waste of time or just a little above watchable. But this movie! Man! I was soooo excited once the movie was over. I never watched a movie that made me feel this great after watching since Maybe Equilibrium? I don't know. But I highly highly recommend this movie! 11 out of 10. Easy.
