Saw V Reviews

May 3, 2025

All the planning and preparation in the sequels from a dead/sick man is ridiculous. However, let Jigsaw plat his games and enjoy the carnage that follows

WATER CUBE IS SO COOL AND GLASS COFFIN

Jan 3, 2025

This was a bit of a step down from the others, but it was alright. It feels like two different movies that were put together to make one. These two movies don't connect, but they're in the same movie sharing the screentime. It's basically 2 short films in 1. It feels a bit confusing, but it's alright. The main plotline was Peter Strahm investigating Mark Hoffman and Jigsaw. It was alright, but the weaker plotline as it felt like we were just recapping the previous movies, a bit like what Spiral was to Ring (to avoid confusion, by Spiral, I mean the 1998 movie, which was a sequel to the movie Ring. I reviewed it before). It had a great conclusion though with the coffin, an absolutely brutal ending and a great start with the Water Cube. The Fatal Five plotline had its flaws, but it had a lot of positives. The traps were usually good. I liked the neckties and the pints. The others were meh. But the conclusion, with the final trap showing all five people were meant to survive, was brilliant. Also Hoffman was cool. I like him so far as a successor to Jigsaw. Well, one of many. I've heard of a man named Logan Nelson. Wonder what his deal is. My favourite trap in this movie was the Ten Pints of Sacrifice, as it is referred to by many. It's a tense scene and it makes you wonder if they'll make it or not. I also quite liked the Pendulum trap, which was a great opening trap, and the Water Cube, which felt like traditional Saw. Overall, alright movie, but feels a bit like filler. Next up, Saw VI! It's quite a beloved movie, so I can't wait to see it!

Saw V has an iconic start and smart decisions throughout the film and doesn't disappoint on gore.

I personally like all of the Saw movies, but some I like better than others and Saw 5 was a good movie. Strahm was locked into a room by Hoffman and put into a trap where his head was in a box that was filling with water. Strahm manages to get out by poking a hole in his trachea to provide hair while he was drowning. Strahm remained convinced that Hoffman was the new Jigsaw throughout the whole movie and he was right. We see the reason why Hoffman became the new Jigsaw and it was because his sister was killed. Before Jigsaw recruited him, Hoffman used a trap to kill his sisters killer and he blamed it on Jigsaw by cutting a puzzle piece out of his skin. Hoffman was later captured by Jigsaw and that is when Jhon gave him a chance to rehabilitate people. While this is all going on, Hoffman has set up a trap made by Jhon to have these people come together and escape their death. They were all connected with tearing down an abandoned building which contained 8 people that tragically died. Two of them made it out and they realized that the whole time it was about working together. Hoffman was there from the very beginning of the Saw movies and the audience had no clue until Saw 4. He was involved with every trap since the man in the barbed wire. Hoffman did a very good job framing Peter Strahm and he had Dan Erikson convinced it was Peter. At the end, we see that Hoffman tricked Peter into throwing him into that box which costed Peter his life. Hoffman was taken to safety in that box and Peter was crushed to death by two walls that enclosed in on him. Dan calls for Peter to be found because he found his cellphone at the computers which were watching the people struggle through their trap and a hot coffee. The movie ends with Strahm dying and Hoffman being safe in the glass box while blood is pouring onto the box. Overall, I like all of these movies because of the lore and the traps are always cool to see.

It was the perfect combination of Intense, terrifying and on the edge of your seats type of Movie! I Love it! Blood, Guts and Gore, the perfect combination of a horror movie! If you've never seen a Saw movie before, don't start now start from the beginning and then continue! If you thought this movie was terrible, then why did you even bother seeing it, because you should have known from the start exactly what type of movie this was, and it was very good! Sorry for the late review!

Even though i was still super interested in the main storyline, the games played by the five strangers wasn't all that entertaining to me.

Love this film so much. I love Peter Strahm and Mark Hoffman, there's not much more to say.

The most forgettable and boring movie in the franchise so far

Jul 18, 2024

Damn, This movie was incredible no matter what you’re not surviving jigsaw or wanna be jigsaw😂😂.. even if you do survive, don’t worry he’s coming for you no matter what… Also, I really had faith for special agent, Peter, but he just got fooled But that ending scene Was a way to end the movie great escape plan. I will say this is one of the reasons why this movie series is so good because of how much it relapses into the other movies No movies do that nowadays

Jigsaw apprentice backstory is revealed and he goes one on one with the last cop that could possibly take him down.

Just stop now it's getting boring! Whether it's the same director or not changes literally nothing...

Seeing Mark Hoffman go on a spree was entertaining. His work with Jigsaw is quite an interesting story and the side plot with the 5 people stuck in the same traps and needing to overcome the situation was interesting to see.

Make a movie, not this!

Another phenomenal ending

Mar 10, 2024

this fifth chapter has a weak and aesthetic plot, which focuses on the suspense that has the introductions, both boring and full of slow flashbacks. Mark Hoffman's character has learned to embrace John Kramer's philosophy, carrying out his dirty work. The ending didn't convince me, since Straham dies only because he thought he had been deceived by Saw, but that's not the case. Saw is always sincere, never playing with the minds of his preys. This is why Hoffman has become my favorite character.

I give this movie a 6.9!!

Some may say that from Saw V the franchise it's going down hill, well guess what NOPE and as a Greek Costas Mandylor is like the son of Jigsaw/Tobin Bell, hell of a show.

I feel that the film is still not appreciated as it should be
