Seed of Chucky Reviews
Calling Seed of Chucky silly is an understatement. However, it's also one of the most radical studio films of the aughts: a distillation of Camp; a piece about performance; and, with both, a self-aware tale of gender.

Mancini took a big swing by going full comedy, playing into the absurdity of killer dolls, while touching on poignant topics like gender identity, addiction, and acceptance.

This fifth movie in the Child's Play series is considered one of the worst, but I like it for its full meta-absurdity.

As Chucky and Tiffany figure out what it means to be a parent, Seed of Chucky lets Glen/Glenda navigate what it is to be themselves.

You've got to respect a sequel that not only acts as a tonal hard left turn for the franchise, but also includes a subplot about a doll questioning their gender identity.

The movie quickly implodes like an over-inflated plastic sex toy. Still, if you have been following this low-budget franchise, this is going to be essential viewing.

There is one thing that cannot be denied or ignored or downplayed: Jennifer Tilly gives every inch of herself to this movie.

No one rents or buys a movie like this for its Oscar moments. This is a fun romp of a flick that's going to be fun with a group of friends and a keg.

Hit-and-miss comedy horror that is often extremely funny, thanks to a splattering of decent gags and an impressive comedy turn from Jennifer Tilly.
