Silent Night is not your topical dark comedy as it apocalyptic scenario in the mix that makes for great character conversations and breakdowns. It鈥檚 just how the film resolves those questions and moral decisions that makes the 2nd half feel hollow

Parents Nell (Keira Knightley and Simon (Matthew Goode) have invited old friends to their home for Christmas dinner. However, everyone knows there's a dark undercurrent to the gathering. I went into this blind and thus unaware of the twist in the film. There are humorous moments but nothing like the dark comedy of such films as After Hours. But I found it enthralling observing how all the characters deal with their circumstances. And that ending, emotional. Highly recommended.

The actors are excellent and I tend to like darker films, but this is the most depressing thing I've seen in a long time. If your idea of a good movie is a 2-hour suicide/mass extinction event at Christmas, including of children, go for it. It's not clear what the point is - the world is dying on poison gas and that's about it.

Watched the first 15 minutes and then turned it off. Waste of time when you see how 2 faced all the characters are. I like a Christmas movie that is a feel good type of movie, not this drama queen-centric crap. Star cast should have passed on this one. The popcorn meter on this is dead right!!
