Even though I haven’t seen this film in theaters when it first came out back in April 7, 2017 I have recently watched it last month 2025 in March. I have to say it’s kind of a good Smurfs movie. I’m very excited for the new one, even though people saying it looks trash, but I think it will do well

Unlike the others Smurfs films, Sony's animated feature Smurfs: The Lost Village follows the new adventures of Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty and Clumsy. With new characters and a lot of detail and humor, Smurfs: The Lost Village is an absolute must-watch for the whole family.

Only reviewing this because of the upcoming 2025 Smurfs. No joke, I forgot nearly everything about this movie an hour after I watched it. It was literally that forgettable.

The movie wasn't bad nor amazing but it was a big improvement from the last two films

This is one of the best cinematic masterpieces I've ever seen it looks much better than the new Smurfs movie I say that and it was so good it got up show based off of the movie

even though I have a soft spot for the two live action Smurfs movies I considered this an improvement over the last two because this is more faithful to the source material and doesn't feature a bunch of product placement shoved into your face and this actually takes place in medieval times instead of New York city

Stupid, Pointless Trash That Shouldn't Exist (at least the animation is clean)

Girls will love it. Guys will hate it.

This completely animated adventure is notably better than the previous hybrid CGI-live action installments.

Smoother animation style. Better music, and better voice acting, but still the Smurfs lost village, adds depth to the previous two movies. But it again passes the time and still has more family fun that the previous two. The ending was a mixed vibe to me.

I watched this on DVD recently. The first thing I noticed was that unlike the earlier Smurf movies which mixed live action with animation, this one is all animated. As you'd expect It's bright and colourful, with lots of fast paced action, and has an upbeat pop sound track which is fun. The quality of animation is very good with lots of detail in rich environments. The trouble is the lack of character depth and a weak story line. Smurfette is the the main attraction, but even she is difficult to relate to. Put simply, for the most part it's style over substance and feels under developed and hollow as a story. Younger children may forgive these shortcomings more readily than adults, and I suspect they are the target audience. For me as an adult, the best parts of the movie were the musical scenes. There's a short scene set to 'We Could Be Heros' in chapter 5, and a longer celebration sequence in chapter 11 set to 'Blue Da Ba Dee' which I liked. There's also a sad scene in chapter 15 which is particularly moving. There's more about the music in the dvd extras.
