Monumental waste of talent. Pierced Bronzeman should never be allowed to make another movie. He is well past his "prime". Sick plot. Reads more like a porn movie without the graphic sex.

In light of terrific cast and premise, thought it would be great Saturday curl up together on the sofa ''date night.'' Solid acting but, oh, what messed up storyline(s). A little bit ''Alfie,'' and ''Dead Poet's Society'' - a little humor, a little poignancy and a whole lot of nothing. What a waste of always-watchable actor/actresses in what should should have have been a winner. As is, almost awful.

Will surprise you as plot will take unexpected turns which will be fantastical and over the top but always surprising

I read the tough reviews, so I wasnt expecting a great deal, but it was a really delightful movie with a few giggles along the way. Pierce Brosnan is an excellent actor, and carries this movie, along with Salma Hayek. Dont write this movie off if you want a light, romantic comedy to enjoy.

Such a confused movie. Maybe the script was good originally or someone called in a bunch of favours to get these actors involved but the end result was not good at all.

My husband and I just saw this on Netflix and we both loved it so much. This was actually my second time to watch it-late last night. It brought me to tears again tonight. It got such horrible reviews I had to join up just so I could say what a wonderful romantic comedy this was. Such tender moments amidst what I view as very viable situations. My life is certainly a mess at times, I don't know what world these other reviewers were living in. Wonderful ending. I didn't find everything predictable at all.

A very predictable film that is a good enough reason to pass the time.

Mildly entertaining Pierce Brosnan movie sees the ex-007 unexpectedly courting Selma Hayak and receiving a visit from his dying father (played by Malcolm McDowell!). Pierce has lost none of his suaveness and cool but is let down by a slightly inconsequential and predictable story. Still, it's reasonable fun.

However, I liked his performance and this film is worth watching because of his presence. The two female leads were just okay, especially Salma Hayek looked much better over Jessica Alba which seems her career is almost over. This is a story of a Cambridge professor who moved to the States after fallen in love with an American student. But just after a few years later he comes crashing down with trouble in the marriage, but he decides to fight for his son at any cost. The story was good, but should have been improvised a little. And the theme might make uncomfortable for some because of a man falling in love with both the sister. Yet very matured and a fine flavour for people with the open mind. There were some fun, especially comparing the booze culture and students' behavious between the two countries. This is a three year old film, but got released different market at different time and I saw it now that I think it was much better than I anticipated after knowing the respond it's got. 6/10

It's very ordinary stuff of changing ones love life to be more 'committed'.

This is a really standard rom-com with nothing new to offer, but has a decent cast including Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba, Malcolm McDowell and Ben McKenzie. I can't recommend it, but it was a light film and easy watch when I was tired.

Some Kind of Beautiful is a quirky romantic comedy that's kind of fun. After learning that his girlfriend is pregnant poetry professor Richard Haig gives up his teaching position in order to start a family, but when the relationship falls apart he tries to work something out that will allow him to stay in his son's life. Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, and Jessica Alba lead the cast and do a fairly good job at handling the lighthearted comedy. But the writing is rather weak, relying on a lot of tropes and needless plot contrivances. And the jokes can be a little hit-and-miss. Still, Some Kind of Beautiful is an entertaining film that has a bit of charm to it.
