I didn’t like it. It’s not interesting at all.

I loved it. A slow pace, very down to earth intimate, the music was really good and it made me feel all kinds of feelings.

Very subdued movie, where good actors seem to have been directed into portraying, bland characters who lack zest.

Storia non particolarmente originale che comunque nella prima parte si fa gradire, prima di spegnersi progressivamente in un finale apatico. Nonostante l'imbarazzante taglio di capelli, Anne Hathaway spicca per la sua capacità. specie rispetto al monocromatico Flynn. Ciò che veramente risalta invece è la musica, varia ed originale per tutto il film, spesso copre una trama piatta e dalle poche sfumature variando meravigliosamente di genere ed atmosfere.

The entire film i felt two things. 1. Anne hathaway looked like she was in a kidnapped situation n tolerating her captors to give them what they want for her own safety. 2. Why does every song sound the same. Agonizingly so. Every song in the movie expresses long syllable to prevent a lack of idea n expression. Only to express these long syllables in a overly emotional way that makes me want to smash my speakers. Then the sex scene.. wtf?! This is about a guy who wants to make music, gets hit by a car, n is in a coma. Why is there a sex scene?! AN overly aggressive n vivid sex scene. The movie made me think it was a satire/dark humor/ mock film. I found myself hoping the kid died so he wouldnt have to wake up to the travesty of his sister sleeping with some musician that may or may not have stolen the kids song. Or the kid stole the other guys song. Idk. Idc. Im a musician. Which is the only reason i related to the movie and it was funny. Honest. And disappointing. Kinda like when your grandpa is disappointed in you but you dont really care till you recognize a truth of life.

Far more interested in making music than a compelling story.

It was ok. Ann H isn't my fave. Johnny Flynn has a great voice. It was a bit plodding. Mary Steenwhatever is awful as usual.

Anne Hathaway gives a good performance in Song One but the whole movie feels artificial and not convincing. The Leads didn’t really have much of a chemistry and everything was so predictable. It’s a very short film that doesn’t overstay its welcome but there’s nothing here memorable that you have not already seen before.

I have to wonder why we are sitting here watching this... I Only good thing I can see about it is I amam not the one who picked it.

I cannot for the life of me understand the bad reviews. This movie is so well done. Poetic and beautiful. The music and performances are exceptional. It is so honest and tender. I have watched it several times and I find it satisfying every time. We all have our own tastes and opinions but to say the acting is bad in this movie is completely false. I appreciate this film and I am grateful they made it.

Pleasantly surprised by how sweet this movie was. The music is amazing.

I actually had to double check if I was looking at the right movie when I looked at the reviews. I have no idea why Song One had such negative reviews from both the audiences and the critics. The film has an interesting story and the performances of the actors who are Anne Hathaway, Johnny Flynn and newcomer Ben Rosenfield are very powerful, it's captivating. The soundtracks are well-performed, too. But then again, people nowadays don't take movies seriously. People would rather watch unrealistic superhero movies that doesn't make sense rather than watching movies with interesting concept and a realistic plot.

I really enjoyed the movie and the music. Story about two characters who during a difficult time were exactly what the other needed.

A romantic drama about a woman whose brother is in a coma after a car runs him over in the street. She reads his journal, goes to all the places he hangs out and brings back pieces of his life in order to being him back to the world. One of those things includes his favorite indie musician. Sister and music man hook up, brother revives, music man departs. Pretty thin on story. No real emotional connection formed in the romance. Want to give it a passing score because I love Anne Hathaway, but I just can't.

Good music but no point.

I am not a schooled movie critic. That being said, often when watching movies at home, I am tempted to stop and read a bit about the movie, or what the plot means as it is happening, usually on Wikipedia.. This movie, it was really nice to just go along for the ride. I am actually still not finished, and have no illusions. It really feels about real people if that makes sense.

I guess I was a little lost, and didn't understand why they couldn't be together. My score would have been a little higher, if it had a better ending

Charming and a bit comedic and sad and romantic at times. With Anne as the lead, I was quite sold already. The music and songs are nice on lovely tones. It's like a real life short story. Remember when... I enjoyed the film very much. In spite of the lack of bombing, shooting, and superpower.

good stuff but be warned this is bummer theater

I really like Anne Hathaway, so I have watched other her movies such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Les Miserables" before. But this movie's Anne is different from those movies. She is very natural and casual in this movie. Until I watch this movie, I didn't know Johnny Flynn because his main job is a singer. That's why his singing voice is really awesome. You should check right now!
