St. Agatha Reviews
The film as a whole ends up feeling a bit long and this may lose some people but the ending is absolutely worth sticking around as well as the evolution of Sabrina Kern as Mary from her meek start to the end where she changes in the ways she needs.

I love how much it made me think. And, ultimately, that is what movies should do.

... Bousman didn't know what he wanted, so he threw a bunch of stuff at the wall to see what stuck.
| Original Score: 4/10 | Aug 8, 2019
...a perverse, creepy, and slickly shot slice of modern day nunsploitation.
| May 16, 2019
A suffocating and monotonous slow-boil Southern-gothic thriller.
| Original Score: C- | Feb 26, 2019
For all of the foreboding visuals, once we work on what's happening, we're less afraid than impatient.
| Original Score: B- | Feb 11, 2019
It might make you pray to be delivered from more such mediocre nunsploitation pictures.
| Original Score: C- | Feb 9, 2019
St. Agatha is by no means a perfect movie, but I do have to give it credit for having a strong voice and for being unapologetically over-the-top in some of its scares, both visually and thematically.
| Original Score: 2.5/5 | Feb 9, 2019
This is a bold, broad portrait of a secret society, left alone by the government to rule their own roost by fear.

As modern-day nunsploitation exercises go, ''St. Agatha'' is pretty bad... [Director Darren Lynn] Bousman seems to have no idea of how to tell the story in an interesting manner and the whole thing just becomes a seemingly endless slog

St. Agatha is a fine thriller that is much better than you will expect it to be. Bousman guides a coherent and nimble narrative to shocking and satisfying builds. HIs cast is solid, and his crew is on point.
| Original Score: 7/10 | Feb 8, 2019
What ensues during this deepening, darkly laced diabolical torture spree is basically wildly wicked women at their worst, a maniacal generation gap standoff with the young terrorized females, and something best left to those warped imaginations out there.
| Feb 8, 2019
St. Agatha may take too long to get going, but once the film is up and running it's perverse, overheated fun.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Feb 8, 2019
An endless trainwreck...
| Original Score: 0/4 | Feb 7, 2019
For most of the running time, it's an efficient tale of desperation, gaslighting, and trying to find hope in a seemingly hopeless situation.
| Original Score: 3/4 | Feb 7, 2019
Aims to provide a gothic-y ride of disorientation, but the production continuously comes up short on scares, originality, and characterization.
| Original Score: D+ | Feb 7, 2019
St. Agatha is less overtly gory and supernatural-oriented than most efforts of its ilk, but it provides plenty of chilling, if slow-moving atmospherics and strong performances.

Bousman has presented us with horror and hope, through a feminist lens that might just add some enlightenment on the side.
| Feb 6, 2019
In an age of smart horror, this is yet another example of taking a familiar horror trope and making it into something truly fresh and chill inducing.
| Original Score: 8/10 | Feb 5, 2019
While the viewer might not be surprised by one single plot point, St. Agatha is perfectly entertaining.
